What was the last version to work properly?

Here’s a new set of logs from version 1.21.0.3616. Tuner service was not running when I checked, and there were no 4227 errors in the windows system log. Look at the end of the logs, last event before I created the logs was a tuner failure. Going back to version 1.19.5.3112, which still works correctly

=I have been having the same issue for at least a month. Usually it happened a few days after installing an update. The DVR would stop recording, and if I tried live TV I would get the error “Could not tune channel.”
I have a HDHomeRun DUAL. I tried reinstalling the software for that, reboot and Plex seemed to work for a couple more days. Then the same issue with the DVR not recording and not able to tune channel. The HD Home run software can tune and view the channels with no problem.
With the latest update (1.21.0.3616) LIve TV and DVR does not work at all. I have taken the suggestions above and downgraded to 1.19.5.3112 and it is working so far.
I’ve attached log files for trying to play a Live TV channel for the old and newest versions.

I’ve paused on a build that works for me - 1.20.5.3562. Are people having success with newer builds and the Live TV/DVR functions?
Sad that this issue has broken our trust in Plex releases - I used to be eager to try out the newest beta builds but now I’m handcuffed to old builds to maintain core functionality.
It worked for a long time for me, now unfortunately none of the builds work. Attached is another updated log from the 1.21.0.3711 version, running on QNAP TVS-473 FW version 4.9.1.1495.
Can I get a lead time on when this will be fixed, this has not been working for myself and others for months, this is my primary use case for Plex, watching live TV from my tuner.(File removed)
I saw this and I tried it . I did everything you did here but I also went into task manager and set the Plex Tuner Service to run in compatibility - Windows 8 and then I got everything to work.
Hi i am having the same problem no channels work, i have done all whats said on here but still the same, my server is running the latest server version too.
Can this please get sorted as its been like this for ages now, 1.19 it was ok since then no livetv working anymore.
Wanting people to subscribe but not fixing your server software errors is not good, people get the plex pass for tv too, so please fix the server app…Thanks.
Just upgraded to 1.21 and I’m getting the same problem. Ubuntu 18.04 with a (old) HDHomeRun TECH tuner. Would not tune anything. Deleted my DVR and set it up again and now it says it can not find my tuner.
How is this still not addressed when it is such a wide spread issue?

U mnie też nie działa poprawnie DVR PLEX
Posiadam Tuner Hauppauge HD-SOLO i działa on poprawnie (sprawdziłem na Mediaserver 1).
Hello
My PLEX DVR is also not working properly
I have the Hauppauge HD-SOLO Tuner and it works fine (I checked it on Mediaserver 1). Plex does not search for channels, after pressing the scan, the information shows how many percent has already scanned but it does not find any channels, I hear that the processor is tired and does something to it, icons from the LAVasoft Audio and Video codecs are flashing, as if the problem was with the codecs (but what is it has to do with scanning? I have no idea) to check if it’s the fault of this plex server, on another computer I temporarily installed a new server and created a new plex account and here it searches for channels but I am not able to go to the next step after entering the zip code, the “next” button is inactive.
Has anyone had a similar problem of similar origin?
Please help me.
Any news from Plex personel on this long standing bug? Is anyone working on this at all? Has everyone gone away for the holidays?
1.21.1.3766-7e23ef53c, December 11, 2020 still doesn’t work. logs enclosed.
Please help

anyone that is tired of waiting for Plex to finally fix this obviously wide spread issue can find version 1.19 here: https://www.filehorse.com/download-plex-media-server/53096/
Same issues here - been broken for months. HDHomeRun with Cablecard. Used to work well - now cannot tune at all. Windows 10.
I run Windows 10 and Plex Server Version 1.21.1.3795, Plex Web Version 4.47.3 and use the Hauppauge WinTv Dual Tuner.
Plex found my device but it wouldn’t let me click the scan button to scan the channels.
I shut down Plex server and opened my Plex Media Server folder and deleted all the files in the Logs folder. When I restarted Plex I was able to scan the channels and everything worked.
Then after the last Plex update a day or two ago none of my channels would play. “Playback error. Could not tune channel”. Again I stopped the Plex server and deleted all the files in the Logs folder and restarted Plex. Everything works again.
Same issues here, worked flawlessly for quite awhile but last update can’t watch anything. Very frustrating
Just updated again to 1.21.1.3830 on QNAP, still not able to watch from my tuner. Could someone at least respond from Plex and let us know that this is a known issue that that it is being investigated. I have posted logs a few times and it all seems to go in a black hole.
Does anyone have a link to a working QNAP version, a release in the 1.19’s somewhere that I could roll back to?
I’m running 1.20.5.3562 on my QNAP w/ HDHomerun Extend. It has been working for me for DVR and on-demand OTA but I’m hesitant to upgrade based on low engagement from @Plex team related to this bug.
Hi
The logs show the tune was successful on 1.21.1.3766 but a request from Plex Web after that failed - because the Web app got updated as part of the Plex Media Server update but the live tv plex web browser session was still using the old bundled plex web app which was removed and replaced after the update
I would like to see evidence of issues without this being a factor
So after a Plex Media Server update that involves a Plex Web bundled app update - one needs to close all Plex Web browser sessions that are using the bundled app and launch fresh browser sessions
Bundled App sessions would be ones started using
http://127.0.0.1:32400/web or http://localhost:32400/web on the server or http://192.168.0.206:32400/web

There isn’t a specific bug that everyone is encountering.
The error message referenced in this forum topic is generic and so each case needs to be investigated through debug server logs to see why it failed and further diagnostics would be needed

I’m assuming that a reboot after the update would close all the sesions you mention. Athough I can’t say for sure that I did that, I will from now on. When I have time I will try the latest version of the server and reboot after the installation.
