maybe its just me, but playing a hybrid DV movie, plex plays it in HDR and it seems quite a bit brighter than the DV presentation inside Infuse? Almost a bit too bright? Anyone else noticed this?
I believe fallback to HDR is intended currently depending on the DoVI profile. What profile is the media in?

I reported the same issue in another post. DOVI profile 8 isnāt triggering Dolby Vision but falling back to HDR 10

Same issue with DV falling back to HDR here too. Hope this can be fixed.

Aye Iāve never seen a background image on Apple TV PEP.

Yes, based on the TestFlight beta for tvOS.
Still no background images. Outside of my infinite issues with the frankly awful player UX and menus, the lack of background images just makes me go back to Good Plex.

The app is still in a very bad shape:
- Navigation is incredibly slow when highlighting an element, there is a multi-second delay for details and artworks to load. The current app loads in half a second. Maybe less.
- Subtitle styling is still broken, see: Subtitles styling is broken when changing OS subtitles style
- STILL CANāT START PLAYBACK WITH THE PLAY/PAUSE BUTTON (unbelievable)
- The player is awful. No preview thumbnails, scrolling the timeline instantly jumps the playback without confirmation, zoom to fill is a million clicks away, and just overall bad layout and feeling while trying to navigate the hud
- Pressing the back button doesnāt auto-scroll the main lists and categories when you go back to home, making navigations cumbersome
- No theme music
- Background art and cast info sometimes donāt load in the details page, more frequent for tv shows
- Live TV straight up doesnāt work
- When opening an episode page from home, you donāt have the ability to quickly browse the season anymore, you are thrown in that single episode details page. Current app is way better for navigation IN EVERY SINGLE WAY, here everything is multiple more clicks and selections away.
I have absolutely zero faith in this new app and Iām still sad about the direction we are headed in. So many decisions needs to be revised by someone who actually uses Plex on TV daily.
Iām actually about to buy a second ATV4K for a different room ahead of time just to download the āgoodā Plex app and block future updates.

Unfortunately I have to agree, the App is not usable at all on Apple TV plus its also very unstable on iOS even released. Live TV having a VBOX and a NAS as backup is not working well at all

I feel the same way, I keep trying every few builds and donāt stick with it for more than a few minutes. It is a step backwards in almost every way still, and not being able to hit the play button is by far my biggest gripe and time suck to starting an item.
My second biggest gripe is bringing up a menu to choose an action it frequently doesnāt have any options highlighted leading at at minimum a long press, a swipe and a click to do anything for what a lot of times used to be accomplished in a single click.
It is also super annoying it still canāt/wonāt default to the surround track when there is both a stereo and surround track even though the old app does it just fine.

Are you on an Apple TV HD? Or 4K? Iāve got background images working on all my AppleTV devices running 2025.19. 2025.18 had some issues with artwork loading properly, especially on the Apple TV HD.
4K. Working on Plex Classic, Infuse, plex web. Baffling situation.

@dklein I made a post about this over a month ago, but the issue exists since the launch of the preview on AppleTV.
apparently they could reproduce the issue, but have not done anything about it either
