Im still having this issue and im running the latest server and client veriosn on my iphone.
This issue should now be resolved in the latest 2025.18.0 beta (see release notes here).
Thanks. Iâm not signed up for the beta test flights. Can I be for this?
Downloads still not starting on iOS (after v2025.17.0)
Downloads to iPhone and IPad have not been working for weeks.
The recent (6 days ago) app update has not fixed this issue where:
- Downloads never start
- Although the download is âQueuedâ it then immediately moves to âDownload Failedâ (Unable to download from media serverâ âWould you like to remove this download or re-add it to the queue?â)
- Retrying the download has the same behaviour
iOS version is 18.5
Can you confirm this is still recognised as an issue and is being fixed.
I subsequently installed the iOS Beta 2025.18.0 (1098) and the problem still exists.
@christophe9526 Sorry to hear that you are having a different (but also frustrating) problem that is not related to iOS 16 specifically as it might have gotten lost on this thread a little.
Would it be possible to get Plex app logs (from your device) and PMS logs? You can share those here in the thread or DM them to me directly, so I can get this issue filed on our end to investigate further.
Sadly our seats on TestFlight are currently full, this is an Apple limitation and not something Plex can control. We regularly free up slots but itâs a never-ending battle of having enough spots.
The solid news is that we go from Beta > Released pretty quickly at Plex lately so in either case, the fix should be right around the corner for you.
I have DMâed you the requested logs.
It appears the downloads are now working with the latest version. now I will have to put in an enhancement request to be able to group things in a series together like the regular series grouping. but it will work for now. Thanks
Unfortunately the original issue is not fixed in version 2025.18.0 that was released last week.
Is there any ETA on a fix for this, as the bug has been present for weeks now.
The issue is still present with Beta 2025.19.0
The issue is still present with Beta 2025.20.0 (1144)
Iâve found a fix in my case. Iâve found if multiple versions of a file exist (even if the original was deleted) the download wonât start and stays in a queued state. If you go in and delete the duplicate, then remove the download and re-add it, itâll start as expected.
Sorry this is still an issue for some folks, I had this problem with earlier releases (the first few), however this hasnât been an issue since sometime prior to 2025.15 for me.
My test devices iPad Pro 12.9" M1 & iPad Pro 11" M4.
To help the Plex team it might help if you could include:
Logs (from client, Settings / About / Download Logs)
What is your device having the problem
What rev of operating system are you running
Are you on Wi-Fi at home, remote over wi-fi or remote over cell when the issue happens
Are you running a VPN on either your client or server
I am having the same issue on a Pixel 7 Pro with Plex version 2025.19.0 (966828423)
Disabling âWiFi Onlyâ does not fix the issue. It is stuck on âWaitingâ
There is only a single version of the file.
I have already provided these to the Plex team a number of weeks ago.
The issue still persists with Beta 2025.20.0 (1153)
As have I, but have often forgotten to include device or OS details that might help to connect some dots.
I ran into this issue as soon as I changed the Quality in Settings to âHighâ. Setting it back to âOriginalâ and re-adding the download and it started working again
I have the same issue, with my iphone, but a friend told me to download files while connected with my browser to my local ip with port 32400, instead of usig the app.
You have to find them in your local files and open with vlc, but at least i can travel and watch some videos
