Thanks for the reply. Yes, we did have a couple of recent power failures. After searching, I found another post that addressed this exact issue. So Yes, I was able to copy a database backup copy and get everything working again. So Issue resolved. Live and learn.
For Syno machines, I’ve found those little 500 & 750 VA USB-connectable UPS supplies work great.
Plug them into the USB port of the Syno and it will then keep it running as well as know when to shutdown as batteries drain. (I usually give at least 5 minute buffer before battery empty).
You can get them for as little as around $50 USD
This costs a bit more but works well for me. I run the TV and Shield for quite a while. (Main NAS is backed up by a 1500VA)
APC UPS Battery Backup and Surge Protector, 850VA Backup Battery Power Supply, BE850G2 Back-UPS with (2) USB Charger Ports
I’m having this problem with my Plex server on my Synology 218+ after going to 7.2.2. The service on the NAS starts and stays running, but most of my devices say it is unavailable. What’s really strange is I can have several devices that can’t find it, but then I go to one of my NVidia Shields or a handheld such as an iPhone or iPad and it works. For example, right now on my Roku TV in my office, it shows unavailable. Same thing on my MacBook Air M1, and on the PC I’m typing this into, a Windows 11 Dell XPS13, but it is working on my iPhone and iPad. I just followed these uninstall and reinstall instructions, I’m now on Beta v.1.41.6.9606-aa6577194 and it has made no difference. I’m at a loss how this could happen. Nothing else on my network has changed, all devices and the Plex server are on the same VLAN, no updates or changes on the network have been made, the only change was the update to Synology and Plex.
