DVR Setup stuck at 0%? I cannot watch Live TV or set it up either.

Safest option is to delete the DVR and recreate and select the relevant lineup for your region

Yes, I agree,
It is exactly what I did.
Nevertheless, as before I am stuck in recreating it. See my previous message, I have the same behaviour.

It seems that Plex do not find HDHomerun device

Here, it is possible to put the IP address inside, and we go one set further. However, after the line up, there is no way to enter the IP address manually and it stays stuck searching for the HDHomerun device. (only my feeling).

Lets get fresh server logs - start with debug logging enabled
Settings / server / general / show advanced

Then would like to capture logs for whole sequence from deletion to recreation and hang

Restart the server
Try to delete the DVR
Wait a minute after deletion
Setup DVR
when you get the hang take a screenshot - do not crop as i would like to see the url and time
and capture the logs zip
also download the database and send me the zip privately

Done,
I sent to you the asked files, keep me informed if you find something
Regards

Thanks for all the diagnostics and the video.

It does look similar to another log i looked at from another user - basically we try to migrate to the new EPG but fail to match an automatic match and attempt to delete the DVR and we seem to get lost there - probably what locked out the atempt to create the DVR showing in your video. You restarted the server at 15:36:00. - i see you put a timestamp on the video of 15:36:56 = was that when you saved it? or started ? Would like to know the start time of the video so i can match it to the log entries - I think it was when you started recording the video

The failed attempt to migrate the DVR was at 15:36:56

Jul 28, 2019 15:36:56.869 [0x7f5cdce31700] WARN - No matching Cloud EPG lineup; deleting DVR.

Your video shows it was deleted already but it hung - I think the hung “deleting DVR” action logged above was probably the cause

I am going to refer this to the development team to add to the logs I had from the other user. It looks like the automatic attempt to delete the DVR after failed to auto migrate to the new EPG is the cause of the issue.

And what we need to do to recover the situation, is manually delete the DVR before Plex Media Server tries the migration and attempts to auto delete. So see if you can leave the settings page on the screen and restart Plex Media Server and then try to delete the DVR manually before the server tries to delete it

Hi sa2000,

You can see the time at the bottom right of the video (windows time).

Oops, yes, I see, the windows time is not recorded.

Video time stamps is (15:36:56) is the starting time of the record. I retested it to be sure, I used the windows recorder, so I am absolutely sure of that.

Knowing this, I do no understand why you find exactly the same time in Plex log ?! It is non sense because I begun the Plex recorder config 51s later, as we can see in the video. I am definitively not able to explain this.

We found the bug

When the automatic update to the new EPG fails, we attempt to delete the DVR to allow you to manually create the DVR - but there is a bug where we end up locking out the DVR

I am getting a 1.16.3 build with the fix - so if you are still in limbo, we can then try our the new build

Vaguely related, but next time you guys make a big change like the EPG, can you both a) send email to plex pass subs alerting of a breaking change, b) include that in the clients as some type of alert (eg: in the web client, you have an alert for an upgrade being available)

I’m paying and not leeching on the free version anymore, so I’m hoping for a little better these days.

I got such an email on June 20 FWIW.

I have sent you link for development build 1.16.3.1451-f665a7ead

This should fix the bug where the DVR gets locked out whilst trying to delete the DVR

When it fails to migrate automatically, it will delete the DVR and this should allow you to go through DVR setup manually

Let me know how it goes. You can collect logs 5 minutes after the restart with the new version and then go through setup

Thanks, however it is not the right release.
I use a NAS Synology DS412+ (cedraview) if I remember well, not windows version.
Regards

sorry - sent you link to the synology spk

YES, Version 1.16.3.1451, :+1:
All things went well, nice.
Many thanks for your help.

I’m having the same issue "“No matching Cloud EPG lineup; deleting DVR.” Can’t set it up :frowning:

Plex Media Server 1.16.4 will have the fix for this and should be released to beta soon. If not, I will make the alpha build available to you

Plex Media Server 1.16.4.1469 has been released as beta and has the fix for the hang after failed auto deletion of the DVR during migration

Release Note: Plex Media Server

  • Fix for deadlock when deleting DVR that could not be upgraded to Cloud EPG. (#10358)

With the fix, DVRs that fail to auto migrate can be manually recreated and setup

(Any one with an early beta or development build for this should now update to the official beta - thank you)

That seems to have fixed it for me. Well, it’s got further than it has for a few weeks.
