Faced with this now. All recording that were scheduled say “Cannot record airing in the past”.
Since I had not done a server update for a couple of weeks before this started to happen, I would assume the guide data is causing the issue somehow.
Thank you for the tip to delete the entire show folder that helps in the meantime!

I rolled back two versions in hopes that would fix. No luck, still have the issue. Appears to be a guide issue.

Seems like the issue is with items/shows that don’t have any Season/Episode information listed from the guide. The ones that don’t seem to have a problem are the shows with that info. Other items like Sports, News… that don’t show this type of info gets compared to the items in the library, sees it as a duplicate, and decides not to record. This seems to be why deleting the existing files seems to “fix” the issue. But this won’t last for too long when the library gets built again.
Can anyone else confirm this on their systems?
I contacted Plex . They said they don’t give support through email only on here . They gave little explanation on how to ask for help but I am happy I am not the only one with the issue . This was there response

This also just happened to me following a Plex update a couple of days ago. Its just one show though. In the TV guide it shows the recording red record dot and “New” next to it. But the show does not show up in the DVR Schedule. It is “Eyewitness News This Morning” show in NYC. It recorded Monday & Tuesday but it is not on the DVR Schedule for the rest of the week. I have deleted the recording and re set the recording and still it does not show up in the DVR Schedule and the red record dot and “New” shows up with the show in the TV Guide. Any ideas what is happening? Thank you.
I fixed it with some suggestions I got from this post. I just deleted my recording files. Restarted Plex Server and all my missing recordings showed up in the DVR Schedule again. Thank you everyone.

I started having this problem a few days ago and ran it down this morning. If there isn’t some unique identifier in the guide data, like season/episode numbers, Plex decides the upcoming episode is a duplicate and doesn’t record it. This shows up in the logs when the recording is attempted.
I don’t know if the fix should be in guide data or Plex itself. As mentioned here, a work around is to delete earlier shows where this problem occurs.

NOOOOOOOO!!! Well the, some what good thing is this particular show that did not show up in the DVR Schedule is a show that I set to delete daily but I must watch it first or mark it as watched. I have it set to “Lates Episode Only”.
I’ve also noticed that around the same time this started happening, which was a few days ago, DVR recorded programs no longer have the airdate in the program information anymore for anything I have recorded. Hopefully a fix can come soon. Running 1.31.3.6868 (Windows) and problem started even though I hadn’t updated to cause it.
This is happening to me too past few days for local news programs (running PMS Version 1.32.0.6918 on Windows). The “delete the recording folders” trick worked! I removed the folders, then re-scanned my recorded tv category in plex and the recordings suddenly showed up in the DVR Schedule tab in LiveTV!
I wonder if this is also related to this other ongoing wrong date issue: Date Wrong on DVR Recordings
I hope plex addresses and corrects this problem!

They said the EPG has been fixed. I just refreshed the guide and now all future airings showed up.
I refreshed my guide and it looks like the recordings show up but not until next week. Many still missing for this week. I guess that’s progress but I hope after it records one episode next week that it doesn’t just stop again.
Crazy that it took them 4 or 5 days to ‘possibly’ fix it but if it is really fixed I guess we’ll live…
Just refreshed my guide and problem seems to be fixed. Hoping the “cannot write to destination” issue I was having yesterday was possibly due to Plex fixing the issue. I created a new DVR folder on another drive that fixed that issue temporarily. Going to test an upcoming episode back at the original recording storage location and see if it works now.
