Hi there
I having this connection problem. I have changed router and NAS because of a lightning strike.
New Router is D-link DIR-855L, Qnap 459 pro+
The router should the portforward with 32400, how ever I cant connect via. canyouseeme.org .
I have 0 firewall on, Windows is all shutdown. The ports in windows have also been manually opened.
Plex media server does not even start up, but is refused.
I have tried a factory reset of both router and NAS. installed Plex several times, but still same problem.
Anyone have any ideas? I have searched the forum, but can’t find a topic with same NAS question.

Where is your Plex server hosted?
I’m assuming it’s on the QNAP because of where you posted but Windows has nothing to do with it and makes it confusing.
You state the server doesn’t even start. What does Resource Monitor -> Processes show? Do you see and “Plex” processes ?
To check the other boxes,
You can access the QNAP easily
The QNAP can get to the internet
You downloaded and installed Plex Media Server from www.plex.tv/downloads

Sry, no its not running so it active under processes.
It’s normal to not connect if the server isn’t running. That’s how browsers work.
As for it not running, I’m concerned.
I would like you to download the QPKG from here (a package one of the Ninjas wrote)
NOTE: This should no longer be used, if PMS is version 1.19.5 or above, since now build into PMS.
See Q28 of the QNAP FAQ
If not on PMS 1.19.5 or above, then look here:
So, if you want an easy access to like logs, to add/remove 3.Party plugins etc.then this QPKG will help you in creating this share.
Simply download the qpkg from here , and install it manually from the AppCenter.
It’ll then create a share named Plex pointing to the Library directory, where only admin user has access
Happy Pl…
It creates a share for PMS which you can then see in FileStation.
Once you have that, You can navigate down into Library / Plex Media Server
Right click the Logs
directory and create a ZIP file of it.
It will write the file there for you.
Please upload the ZIP here and I will see what’s happening.
We will know if PMS is starting or the problem is elsewhere

Hallo again
I’ll try this once I am at home again after work. I can start PLEX via MyQnap Cloud.
I have however downloaded the software, and in Filestation I now have a folder called PLEX with a subfolder called TMP, this is now empty.
You can’t use MyQnap Cloud during initial setup. PC and QNAP need to be on same LAN at that time.
