Are you sure your PMS can reach the internet?

So that guide eventually pointed me to Why am I locked out of Server Settings and how do I get in? | Plex Support

Which pointed me to removing the ‘PlexOnline…’ fields from the Preferences.xml file, which is where we started :).
I do note when I reopen the Preferences file now, those fields still do not exist.

Now I’ve been trying to log in via my laptop>NAS IP/web address - will try via a client on the NAS itself and see if that works any better

It was reaching perfectly fine before the password reset drama :slight_smile:

No change when using Chrome directly on my NAS - and it just freshly logged in.

Does have me wondering why my Preferences file isn’t updating with those details though…

I also reset my password and hit sign out all devices. I reclaimed both servers but all I see in the logs are:

Aug 24, 2022 11:00:38.550 [0x70000a050000] ERROR - CERT: Error acquiring new certificate: Failed to upload CSR: 429, <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
errors
error code=“1003” message=“API rate limit exceeded” status=“429”
errors

Unable to access any of the content. Both servers were fine prior to the reset.

In Sydney Aus here and it’s 1:30am - need to zzz so attaching here the latest logs if they provide any intel
Plex Media Server.log (3.4 MB)

This does sound exactly like the problem I’m having right now, can’t access media server on web, nor on mobile; but can accessible by directly connecting to media server. It’s so far above my knowledge I have no clue where to begin fixing it

Plex.tv got issues: https://status.plex.tv/

Hi,
I’m also affected with HTTP 429 on cert retrieval, can you do something? @dane22 ?
Without your intervention, how much time could this last?
Also, were you at the origin of some session revocation in the last few days?
Thanks

@u556973

Your certificate has been reset.

Please restart the server. Also please make certain you’ve performed all the required password reset steps (if applicable) before restarting the server.

@MTC0316

I have reset your account certificate.

  1. Make certain you’ve reset your account password if required
  2. Restart the server
  3. Claim the server again if password changed
  4. Restart and sign in all devices again as required.

TO ALL HERE:

To expedite clearing your account issues, please supply the following info:

  1. Was password reset required ?
  2. Has the password been changed ?
  3. Were all devices signed out (check the box when changing password) ?
  4. If all the above is complete, Please provide
    – Name of the server (friendly name)
    – Host OS it runs on (to confirm we have the correct server.

Not working sadly (CERT: Error acquiring new certificate: Failed to upload CSR: 429; but I may have tried removing the CertUUID at the same time, sorry, reverted my changes).

Hi, I’ve performed all the required steps, seeing cert retrieval issues. There should only be one server on my account, running the latest 64-bit Plex build on Windows 11 Pro. Appreciate any help!

I guess I’ll post here with the same details I had previously started with here Changed password, reclaimed servers but no access assuming it is a Cert issue as 2 of the 3 servers are working:

  1. Yes
  2. Yes
  3. Yes.
  4. Robin - Computer on Windows isn’t working correctly

im in the same boat. logs show:

to answer the questions

  1. pw was reset twice
  2. pw is changed and mfa enabled
  3. sign out of all devices was checked
  4. server name neurosis running macos 12.5.1

a secondary server has been fine through both pw resets

@u556973

I have cleared the “429” flag.

Restart the server.
Give it a minute or two to get started and settled.

@najera1

The certificate appeared stuck in Generating mode.
I’ve cleared that and am now waiting for a new certificate.

Please stop the server.

I’ll watch it here and let you know when ok to start

thanks. server has been shut down and ill keep it offline until you let me know

CERT: Downloaded new cert from plex.tv; took 12 tries.
Thanks :slight_smile:
Edit: and good luck btw ^^’
