@keevy17

It claims, that something is already running on port 32400

Try and restart your QNAP

nevemind…

Have tried the above advice with Terminal - but getting this :

Plex Media Server is currently running or hasn’t been shutdown properly. Please stop it before starting a new instance.
If not so, then delete the file named /share/HDA_DATA/.qpkg/PlexMediaServer/lock and try again.

I just started having this issue on my QNAP EVS-1080-Pro and here’s my output:

[/share/CACHEDEV1_DATA/.qpkg/PlexMediaServer] # ./plex.sh start Starting Plex Media Server... [/share/CACHEDEV1_DATA/.qpkg/PlexMediaServer] # ./Plex Media Server: error while loading shared libraries: libutil.so.1: wrong ELF class: ELFCLASS32

EDIT: looks like I just needed the 32bit version

Can anyone help……
My Plex Server was running great until I applied the Plex Update 1.7.2.3878 and the QNAP update 4.3.3.0188. Not sure which one caused this problem. The QNAP NAS box is up and running and all seems OK other than the Plex Media Server won’t start. Trying to access it through a Windows 10 terminal but get the “error connection refused”.

Any suggestions on how to get it working again would sure be appreciated…

Your Question is answered here

I know this is old but I’m wondering if it still works? I have a new tvs-471 and I’ve uploaded the 64bit version for QTS 4.3 but I still can’t get plex to work. My firmware is up to date with 4.3.3. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Forgot to mention, this is what I see.

See Q22 on QNAP FAQ

I’m using 192.168.1.77, so I don’t think that’s it?

You have posted a screenshot showing ip 74.137.233.39

Hmm, now I’m really confused.

That is the screen I’m taken too when I try to access Plex

@“waynedewig@gmail.com”

What is the IP of the QNAP on your LAN. That’s what you should be connecting to, not a public-facing IP.

192.168.1.77

How do I do that?

Maybe I’m not being clear. That webpage is what I see when I click on the plex app on the qnap dashboard. I’m not selecting an ip. I’m pretty new to all of this, so I could be messing up here but I wanted to be clear.

Undestood. QNAP is showing you an IP different than you need to be at.

Open your browser
in the address bar, type http://192.168.1.77:32400/web

The reason I want you to do this is to get confirmed control of the server via the Web UI.

IF, when you do this, you don’t get the Plex page or an error about http vs https, PMS isn’t running correctly and we will need to find out why.

If you do get the Plex login, do so. Next follow the instructions (if it presents you with the setup wizard)

Please let me know your progress.

I was able to access Plex using the browser station. Is that what I should do going forward? Use the browser station instead of the app?

Thanks for the help. I really appreciate it.

Wayne, Yes PMS administration is through the browser always.

Once you have it fully configured the way you want it, then feel free to use the app as much as you want. The app only provides playback and sync capabilities. It doesn’t provide any administration capabilities.
