I’ve ripped a 6-CD set of The Strauss Family music to six folders on my DS723+ running DSM 7.2.1 69057 Update 4.
Plex is only finding three of the six folders: three as albums (Discs 1, 2 and 5), and two (Discs 1 and 5) as Artists, plus a lot of the individual music files.
(There are more individual files listed ‘below’ this image, but no more albums
What can I do to enable it to recognise the other three folders as albums?
File Station doesn’t show the file permissions, but they were all uploaded in the same way.
How can I check the file permissions of these folders and files?
And browsing to Plex using Chrome as a player, seach doesn’t work at all. Whatever I enter in the search box, nothing is ever found.
I’ve read that article, and followed the instructions.
As far as I can see, PlexMediaServer was already in the list of users, the permissions were already set to Read & Write, all the Read and Write checkboxes and sub-boxes were checked, and I applied or re-applied the check Apply to folders and subfolders.
No difference. Still only two discs show in the Artists list, and three in Albums. And scrolling through the list of tracks, I see that tracks listed all come from only those albums which are showing as albums. No tracks from Discs 3, 4 or 6.
But I have re-started the NAS, and updated Chrome. Search in the web browser is now working, but still only finding two or three of the discs in Artists and Albums respectively.
What else can I try to regain access to the stored albums and tracks? Even scrolling through the library only shows the three albums 1, 2 and 5. No sign of 3, 4 or 6.
