Files not being picked up even with correct naming conventions

Server Version#:1.18.2.2058
Player Version#:

I was just searching randomly and couldnt find a film and interestingly some of the mp4 files are uploaded and some are not and i even followed the proper naming format but still not successful. What am i missing here?

mp4 file can have embedded tags that will interfere with Plex’s scanning and identifying process. Can you remove them and try again?

I went to the properties of the file and in the details there no tags.

Adding to @darcilicious here, and no offence meant, but in about 99% of the times, where folks up here says: i even followed the proper naming format they didn’t

So please provide a screenshot of the naming.
(Note: Screenshot, and not typing)

in windows 10 its showing at the end. mp4
i even tried Jessie (2019).mp4

The last one should be named according to https://www.themoviedb.org/movie/69597-aayirathil-oruvan?language=en-US

First one is most likely this one: https://www.imdb.com/title/tt9903716/
And is sadly missing from https://www.themoviedb.org/ so all I can suggest, is that you add it to themoviedb.org

I ADDED that one to the link posted and the other actually comes up with that name if i search in plex even though the title of the file i have is different. Still trying to get the first one to work, added a space before .mp4 as well. Still not showing up after doing a scan of library files.

Then edit it, and lock down the title, and add what I suggested as original title

And FYI: I ALWAYS go with original titles

yes sir, but i tried matching couple of other files and i am waiting but the other one i created just now its still not showing up.

It takes a couple of days, AFAIK

what about the files i changed to match the website which are already existent? how much time normally does that take after doing a library scan?

Sorry, missed that, and new screendump please…

Also note, that I recommended that for movies, you put every movie in a separate directory named <Movie Name as Named on IMDB.com> (YEAR)

Ref: https://support.plex.tv/articles/naming-and-organizing-your-movie-media-files/#toc-0

And adding here FYI: Night here in Denmark, so signing off for today

Highlighted files, matched them with the website and they are sitting in

@darcilicious

i update numerous times but the files dont show up still and i even moved one of them inside a folder giving the same name as the file, still no luck

Do the Plex Dance on some of them, and afterwards, upload a zip with the logs as well as tell us the names of the files you did a Plex Dance on

Is there a possibility that i have a folder with the name lost 1080p and i have added another folder which is Lost.S01.Season.1.720p.5.1Ch.BluRay.ReEnc-DeeJayAhmed in the same section and only one shows up
I have two sections in plex - one section picks up the lost 1080p absolutely fine with the correct name and the artwork but doesnt pick up the second one on the same section
In another section i have manually selected that tv show folder and added it just comes up as s01 with no name and the episodes come in as well but no names nothing

I had to force it in another section like this but doesnt give me the artwork and all like this one
