This film called M/M.
How would you name the file for Plex? Use a NFO file?

I just added that film into Radarr for you which also uses tmdb.
Try M+M (2018)
Thanks. I donât know what Radarr is, though, and how to use it with Plex.
Yeah donât worry about that.
Its just another program that uses the same tmdb naming as Plex
So just try M+M (2018) and Plex should recognize it.
Hmm, it didnât. Even after the Plex Dance.
It actually doesnât even acknowledge existence of the file. Like, I canât see it in my library even without any metadata so that I can manually match it.
Sounds like a job for @OttoKerner
Just call it MM 2018 without any special characters, then manually match it.
As you can imagine, Iâve already tried many, many different versions of the title, such as:
MM 2018
M_M 2018
M M 2018
M-M 2018
M+M 2018
âŚand some combinations of these with parentheses, such as: MM (2018)
âŚin and out of a subfolder.
None of them worked. The file just doesnât appear in my library.
So, I put renamed the file to âM M (2018)â and put it under a subfolder called âM M (2018)â. Then I created a new Movies library and added just that folder to it. I also created a NFO file that had nothing but the tmdb link in it: https://www.themoviedb.org/movie/499791-m-m
The file finally appeared in the new library in Plex, and it was inexplicably matched with Death Wish (2018). I manually changed it to the correct film (which was also a chore because of the weird title), so the film is in Plex but on its own in a different library.
The weird thing is, the filmâs subfolder is actually under the main Movies library, anyway. It just refuses to show up there even though it can be found in the standalone library.
Weird.
Okay, it turns out the film was actually showing up in my main Movies library, but it was erroneously matched with M (1931). The main problem there was an error that caused it to be buried deep in the library instead of showing up at the top (when sorted according to âdate addedâ). I manually corrected the match.
I just happened to guess that this might have happened
After mismatches, the Plex Dance is still necessary. Or you will get inexplicable behavior.
