Search no longer searches the guide, just Plex media. You have to run an old version to get the search back. All of my Android clients are running old versions as I need guide search (we have over 100 OTA channels).
The last version I know to have worked is 8.10.0.21911, so it’s been an issue for a very long time.
My content is copyright protected… JK lol. That was actually a channel duplication error on the shield when another android user was watching the same channel, but that has been fixed. The firestick problem is something else with the same look. But we are testing this tonight. @masterg as for your 20 minute buffer, I have a firestick on order and arriving today. Ill test as well.
I’ve been getting buffering/skipping at about the 2 hour 30 minute mark with the new beta consistently and this morning I woke up to the home screen of the firestick. I have noticed when the buffering/skipping starts that even if you change the channel it’ll buffer/skip right away and only a reboot of the firestick will get it back to normal. Not even force killing plex fixes it. I’ll get a more exact report later when I have some free time.
@masterg@kegbeach I’m unfortunately unable to duplicate the issue. This could be caused by a different type of GPU or operating system. Or another thought possibly the transcode interlace live TV is disabled? I remember that used to be an issue with Fire TV at least in the past, this is going back 2 years:). But as Sixones has stated, he’s hungry for logs. In the meantime I’ll keep playing with the fire stick 4K:). If I can duplicate I’ll send logs as well!
I’m using the Firestick 4k with xTeVe playing progressive content mostly. I haven’t tested my antenna tuner with interlaced content past the 300 second issue.
On non 4k Firesticks there is no option to disable interlaced transcoding. The Firestick 4k doesn’t even need that option turned on as it can decode interlaced content natively.
I’m sure we have a long road ahead of us. No doubt.
In the meantime I use my roku to regain some sanity.
Probably doesn’t need a log but one side effect from this build is when changing the audio channel in the Plex player on Live TV it crashes the whole of Plex.
@sixones I can send logs for that as well later this evening or tomorrow morning. Can you confirm should we be using transcode interlace live TV for testing? Or that doesn’t matter anymore. I’ve been out of the fire stick game for quite a few years and it looks like according to a member it’s been patched. Also if you need access to hdhomeruns, any variant, I don’t know if it’s allowed but you’re welcome to it for testing purposes.
Nevermind I think I answered my own question about the transcode interlace live TV. If it’s disabled the audio and video goes off track after about 20 minutes. I don’t run into a buffer Loop.
Hmm I’m confused on what your suggesting there, on a Fire TV interlaced video is not supported, when this happens we transcode via Plex Media Server. What are you disabling that causes an A/V sync after 20 minutes?
