I’m hoping someone can point me in the right direction here, when I put in certain albums Plex doesn’t always find the metadata for them;
I can see the media info to get the album name;
Using Fix Match and with the release ID from MusicBrainz;
The process then updates the album header but not the tracks;
Should I be doing something else?
no on both of these, but I thought it would take the file name at that point? if in the correct format?
The one thing I can see that might be an issue is that your filenames don’t exactly match the track titles on MB. Try removing the ( 2021 Master) from the filename and see if it makes a difference. I’ve had issues that were solved by this in the past.
Note: When you rename files, you will probably have to do the “Plex Dance” for the album. They’ve eliminated the need for this step in most cases, but renamed files is the one case where it’s still necessary.
I just noticed your files are in wav format. That should be fine, it’s a supported format. I just have no experience with it, so I don’t know if there are any specific problems related to it.
Plex cannot read metadata from WAV.
I strongly recommend converting them into Flac.
You will be needing embedded meta data, particularly when you’re trying to have several different releases of the same-titled album in Plex.
