Freaking out, libraries gone from Plex on PC

Server Version#: Cant see server version any more, but updated it in the last few days
Player Version#:

I have been using Plex for the last few years and love it.

I am running the server on a Windows 10 PC, and am running Plex for android on my TV and stream it from there. Movies are stored on my NAS.

The problem is that for some reason my libraries have gone from the PC. The screens look exactly like the post here:

https://forums.plex.tv/t/your-media-get-plex-media-server-only-option/513653

If I use Plex on the TV I can see all of my movies, including those that I just loaded. I just see no libraries, or server, from Plex on the PC.

I have rebooted the PC several times, the NAS once, and I can see the files on the NAS no problem from the PC.

I am sure the problem is solvable and I have just lost the server somewhere, and need to load my libraries again. I have been searching the forums and elsewhere for hours now and can’t find a solution to this problem.

If you need more information please ask. Thanks in advance for any help I may receive.

TIA
Tim

Just trying to help…

The Plex App is logged into my Plex account.

In Settings in the Plex app, the server doesn’t seem to be there.

The Home button proves a link to “Your Media”. This tells me to download Plex Media Server

Try reinstalling Plex Media Server on your PC.
I recently saw a few people on the forum have similar issues upgrading PMS on Windows, and running the installer again resolved their issues.

Hi Scott,

Thanks for your replies.

I was going to try to reinstall Plex Server, but I was worried it would take out my existing configuration. I have a lot of files on my NAS.

I guess if I have to rescan, then I have to :frowning:

I will try it now and report back when I know how it washes up.

I understand. If you have space, make a copy of your library folder if you are worried about it.

OK, a very unexpected outcome:

For some reason it had decided to log in under another email address than the one I have been using forever. I didn’t even know I had an account under the email it was using.

I decided to check that the tv could still access the server, and noticed that the app there was accessing a different server (i.e. a different email address) than the PC was. I changed it over (had to reset the password) and bam, it worked.

Now I have to reset the password on the tv but still think that is less mucking about than reconfiguring the whole thing.

Sorry to have used your brainpower to diagnose this particular weirdness, but I thank you for your help.

Regards,
Tim
