Game Controller Not Detected

Device: Amazon 4k Firestick (AFTMM)

Looks like the new update broke something and now triggers a “Game Controller” warning every time the app is launched from the Amazon home screen. Launching the app from “Manage Installed Applications” avoids the pop-up however. A bug fix would be great- please and thank you! And I hope you guys don’t get any funny ideas about adding some kind of game streaming feature into Plex :wink:

Yep.

Also came to see if anyone else was having an issue with the Firestick update .
Up until this update I had no issues , now I can’t play certain files , I get a “An error occurred while attempting to play this video. Please try restarting both the PLEX media server and this app”

I’ve done both. Even reinstalled the app on my firestick . The files play fine on the computer either using VLC or the PLEX hmedia server . I can also stream them remotely on my iPhone . They just won’t work with the firestick app now

i too have the same issue. this update has also made playing anything 4K impossible to do without transcoding. HEVC disabled? also the H264 maximum level was reset to 1.0 (recommended)

Same issue here as well w/ 4K playback. It’s transcoding to 1080p for me.

Same problem on Fire TV Cube, so looks like it’s not a device-model specific issue.

So glad
the Plex app booted me in the middle of streaming something to let me know about an update that wasn’t properly tested before release.

And I’m sure it’s a binary value that was miscoded somewhere. The difference between ‘Game Controller Optional’ and ‘Game Controller Required’.

I can also confirm having the same issue after updating to latest update. Game controller not detected. Then they offer you a choice to buy one
