Removing and re-adding the DVR seems to have fixed this latest issue with the recordings failing to schedule entirely.
Now I’m just back to many things listed as SD. Will make a list when I get some time.
I’ve just installed 1.16.1.1291 and I’m hoping everything has been fixed. We shall see. But then now it’s the 1st July we don’t really have a choice, do we?!
Well, it’s now been a week since I installed PMS 1.16.1.1291 and I can’t make any HD recordings at all. If I set a recording to HD only and specify an HD channel trying to record all future episodes, it appears in the priority list but not in the DVR Schedule. It also says in the priority list that there no upcoming airings which is not the case when I check the Guide. So what is going on?
At the moment I’m trying to record “Casualty” on Saturday evenings on BBC1HD and “Holby City” on Tuesday evenings also on BBC1HD. I know it’s Wimbledon Fortnight and the Beeb may well choose to show a match instead of the programme at the last minute, then in that case all I should get is a recording of the tennis. But I’m being told by Plex that there is no programmes scheduled to be shown.
I can record SD programmes without any problem so far, as I am in the process of recording “Agents of SHIELD” on Sunday nights on E4.
It all worked so beautifully before you changed the metadata supplier or whatever it was! There is an old adage which says “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it”, but unfortunately you had to mess with it and now this is so broken and I’m not best pleased.
So Plex what’s happening, and when will it be fixed?
Change it to “Prefer HD”. That worked for me.
Same problem just happened to me yesterday. An airing of Big Brother recorded on July 3rd. Yesterday, July 7th, the next episode didn’t record. Looking at it today I noticed it said no upcoming airings. Cancelled all recordings for that show. Then set it to record again. Now it shows the next recording date and lists all the next recordings. Hope it works.
I’ll try that and see what happens. Thanks for the advice.
Well, it would appear to be confined at the moment to BBC Channels. I did a little playing around and many other HD channels are fine.
I think the Beeb must be doing something to the EPG because at the moment they are showing every court at Wimbledon via the the main channels and the red button, with the show courts on BBC1, BBC2 and BBC4 and the HD channel equivalents too.
They must be keeping their options open on the EPG in case matches over run or they decide to show an important match instead of the scheduled programme. This seems to be impacting PMS. I’ll have to wait until the tennis finishes to see if everything goes back to normal.
There are some major inaccuracies in the new EPG in that it is showing, for example that the new Holby City on BBC1 Tues 16th July as S4 Ep5 “Honeymoon” when in fact it should be S21 Ep29 “Honeymoon”. So as far as PMS was concerned it was a repeat airing and as I had only asked it to record new airings it ignored it and as a consequence I wasn’t getting any new recordings. Once I changed the drop down box from New Airings Only to New and Repeat Airings then my DVR Schedule populated with all the upcoming airings on every channel. which isn’t what I wanted really, but this was due to the incorrect information in the EPG.
The EPG is complete outside my control and the new data provider is IMO, a major step backwards. Why, oh why did we have to change? It worked and that was all that we needed. If it was because it was cheaper then as far I’m concerned it was a false economy.
However, enough of the rant. If you have found that you are having the same problem with your EPG and have found mistakes in the programme information in the EPG you can report these inaccuracies here. I just hope this all gets fixed soon.
Quick update, I changed the recordings in the DVR Schedule to New and Repeat Airings and limited them to just the 1 channel (BBC1HD) which only shows the newest episodes (at the moment) and I have what I want. Phew!
