Help! Can't Access PMS at all anymore!

Server Version#: 1.13.8.5395
Player Version#:7.6.2 and latest on Roku
My server is on my laptop that is connected to the internet via VPN. I had no issues in the past and couple of weeks ago… poof no more Plex, not even relay connection. I’ve searched and searched, adjusted router settings. The server is showing that it has all the connections but I can’t see the server anywhere. HELP!

i think mostly everyone is in the same boat w/ Plex not working. Mine seems to locally at least though.

I don’t believe it is anything u r doing wrong. I am having the same problem tonight and there were no changes to my server. I then upgraded PMS to the latest version which didn’t help.

It is some problem at Plex. I believe we go through their servers to connect our remote devices with the our servers. If there r problems at that choke point (at Plex), then you would not b the only person with this problem. And you aren’t.

I believe we need to go to Plex for help on this.

I can ping the IP address just fine…

From the server itself, can you access http://localhost:32400/web ?

On the server device I can access
http://127.0.0.1:32400/web
http://localhost:32400/web

If you can get to the local Plex server from the localhost, but not another internal host, you’ve got some firewall issue going on on your windows computer hosting Plex. I’m no expert on Windows firwall though.

Do you think everybody is having firewall issues all at the same time?

Why hasn’t any mod’s commented on what the actual problem is? They havnt even bothered updating the status page!

I just found an issue similar, check to make sure that you network didn’t switch from private to public. I lost remote access after recent windows 10 update

No, you are having firewall issues. That much is guaranteed. If you can access your plex server from the host, but not other computers on the same network, it is some sort of routing issue on your server. Your routing issues are not Plex related and won’t be on the status page.

I would make sure your ISP didn’t change you to an internal IP (if the modem is a router too) you may need to get them to change it to bridged mode. That would make you double NAT’d and you wouldn’t have access…

Also, your MTU size should be 1500 not 1300 (unrelated)

Nope, mine says ‘Network category: Private’ and there are a LOT of complaints on the net the last day or two about Plex losing remote access without anyone making any manual changes.

Had the same issue I installed server and app on TV reinstalled app on TV configured server make sure you erase all the cash associated with the program before reinstall on server/ desktop

Ok I didn’t touch a single setting on the server after my last post and remote access is now working? I did check all the ports for Plex we’re open to!

I have my own modem and router (separate)… Not double NATd

I changed MTU from 1500 to 1300 since I found out Plex has issues with big blocks.

Just to add to it… downloaded and installed Emby just to check out the differences. Emby works fine in an out of the network without any issues. Plex is all messed up.
