HELP! Stubborn---"Please check that the file exists and the necessary drive is mounted" Issue

The problem isn’t you.

You made one mistake which, if you’re new to Plex & Synology, won’t know unless you read the installation & setup FAQ.

Bottom line:

  1. Do not use the Synology-provided : video, or photo shares.
  2. User plex cannot get access no matter what you do.
  3. Synology claims exclusive access

The Solution:

  1. Create a “Movies” share
  2. Create a “Television” share
  3. Create other shared folders as you need
  4. Move your media into those shared folders.
  5. Grant user plex permission to read them
  6. Point Plex at those folders in your Library section definitions.
