I have tried to hide the items in collections for TV Shows, Other Video etc, and it appears that this advanced feature only works in libraries of type “Movies”, although the option is available for all types of libraries.
Is this a bug or by design ?
After you change the setting the library will do some processing to remove them but works fine as far as I can tell. You can see here with the individual marvel tv shows (agent Carter, agents of shield in image) which are in my marvel collection there and not depending on that setting
To be clear you have to be sorted by title and filtered by All for it to show collections at all. if you are sorted by anything else it will show the items regardless of the type of our library which also has always been the case

I guess the sorting is important, so I now can see the correct display.
