How do I Record 2 Episodes of the same show on the same day.

Thanks
All has recoded last night, no missing episodes, only the other issue of it grouping the episodes together as though they are one

I am still on the test version you provided and have saved my logs from last night, if you need them let me know

Thanks = you can stay on the test version for now. The only difference is that you have extra diagnostics to save bad JSON for EPG refreshes into a file for diagnostic purposes

Cheers
I will try and remember to grab save the logs after the doubles have been recorded (mon, wed, thur, fri), so if any changes have been made in the background i should have the logs ready

Last nights Emmerdale failed, this might be for a different reason as i see a transcoder error

Apr 03, 2018 19:00:36.198 [8596] ERROR - DVR:Recorder: Part didn’t have an audio or a video stream.
Apr 03, 2018 19:00:36.198 [8596] ERROR - DVR:Recorder: Error 12 (There was a transcoder error) starting the record, shutting things down.
Apr 03, 2018 19:00:36.245 [8596] DEBUG - MediaRecorderVirtual: setting stop time to 1522778436
Apr 03, 2018 19:00:36.245 [8596] DEBUG - DVR:Recorder: Asked to stop recording ‘Emmerdale - Episode 04-03’.
Apr 03, 2018 19:00:36.245 [8596] DEBUG - DVR:Recorder: Stopping transcode session.

When i noticed it had failed i changed the schedule to make it all channels
This then correctly recorded the repeat airing at 7:55 this morning (ITV2)
Unfortunately it also recorded the same episode from the +1 channel (ITV2 +1) at 8:55

I have the logs, not sure if the double recording this morning is expected

How does plex get the original aired date?
Becasue of Emmerdale failing last night I decided to schedule Coronation Street to pick up all airings on all channels, so if there is a failure then the repeat would get picked up

This is what is shown in the guide data for itv3 repeats of Coronation Street (looks like its using todays date)

From Schedules Direct (same source i think as Gracenote), this is what this episode should be, originally aired 1st June 1988

That is what would now happen if you have scheduled all airings and all channels.

That episode hasnt aired yet, its on tonight, do tonights episodes look correct in the guide?

That was what i was seeing for Emmerdale, shows where out by a day (airing wise)
My refresh is only 40%, so will see if fixes it

Both coronation streets and the emmerdale for tonight all have todays date so will see how they record think i best delete all the episodes it recorded this afternoon incase it detects it as already recorded

The EPG Refresh aborted at 55%

Can you get me this file please - zipped
C:\Users\drek7\AppData\Local\Temp\44368318-287e-46ef-96a9-bab92ac4b8b4.plex.json
also look for any other xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx.plex.json files within the temp folder and zip as well

This is a new diagnostic file for json errors

@"“Kings Media”
The json error that caused the abort at 55% was referred to Gracenote and we believe they fixed the problem

Let me know if you get that problem again - with logs please - suggest a new forum topic as it is a separate matter. Do ping me with a PM if you get the problem again and raise a forum topic for it

looks like we are about there

Wednesdays Coronation Street worked perfectly, displayed as the 2 correct episodes
Last nights Emmerdale also showed both episodes correctly

Need to do some more testing for other date based shows, but its looking good for these two shows

Is there any updates on the status of this?

I still have these shows schedules to test them, and they have not worked properly since my last post
Both episodes are always grouped as one now

Cheers

I have no update at the moment on the remaining airing identification issue.

What was fixed was ensuring recordings are not lost

Thanks

Can this be chased with the devs, as the problems are part of the same issue, recording episodes and naming them correctly

Not heard anything for over a month now, want to make sure it is still being addressed

It is raised internally as an issue still to be addressed.

Any update on this? I’m now recording Emmerdale and Coronation street for my folks and they’ve pointed out this problem - you can’t even split the episodes which sucks

sorry know its a old topic but still no fix ??

This is driving me nuts too

Mine are showing the correct file names i.e. Part 1 and Part 2

However Plex is grouping them together into a single episode.
