In the individual player apps disable “auto sign in”
you can remove your PIN if you have one on the Users & Settings page. by clicking on the Edit PIN link on the far right of your users row. type in exisiting pin then it will allow you to remove
Sorry but I have looked all over and I cannot for the life of me find where you are describing.
In settings it shows Version 4.8.3 then language followed by remember selected tab and not automatically sign in. Where have I gone wrong?
Mike
I do have the X there as I do not want to use a PIN.
As I have mentioned to BigWheel…In settings I do not have what you see, instead it shows Version 4.8.3 then language followed by remember selected tab and not automatically sign in.
the only reasons is should be having the user selector at all is if you are in a home or you set a PIN on your account.
click the X to leave the home. if you are by yourself there is no need for it to be in one
there seems to be a bug that if you are in a home by yourself (and don’t have a PIN) it is not showing you the option to auto sign in.
Correct BigWheel, I am at home with no PIN!
The only option I have is to set a PIN, which I do not want to do.
I suppose the option I have is to re-install the player and set all the libraries up, I will let you know if it resolves itself. I appreciate your help, cheers
Mike
I have re-installed the Plex Media Player and the same thing happens, if you could pass this concern to the your tech people, they may want to look at it.
Thanks for your help BigWheel

Sorry I guess I was not being clear. I am saying click the X
to leave the Plex Home. The X does not have anything to do with the PIN. Set PIN
and the X
are separate buttons for different things. The X
is to leave the Plex Home. the reason it is showing you the user selection screen is because you are in the Home. There is no benefit in being in Home by yourself
it is an account level setting. not related to a particular app or server
Apologies BigWheel, I have looked but in what location do I click the X
to leave the Plex Home?
Mike
are you in someone ELSE’s home ?
Plex Web > settings > users & sharing > mouse over your user name, click the X to leave your home.
** if you have other home users this will remove all of them **
Nope, I’m the homeowner.
I don’t mean your physical house, Plex has a feature called ‘home’ which enables different user profiles (like netflix etc).
so if you have multiple family members, they can each have their own profile, playlists, history, etc.
if you do not have other family members, then you do not need the ‘home’ feature, and can safely click the X to remove the home from your server.
go to https://app.plex.tv/desktop#!/settings/users-sharing or follow the arrows in image.
and when you hover over your user row with your mouse cursor you will see the X
(#3 in image)
Sadly no X appears and there are no other home users.
Still perPLEXed
Mike
can you post a screen shot of what you are seeing?
you can paste the image right into the post here
i asked someone to look at your account on the back end and can see the home removed so something changed from yesterday to today. it is still asking when you close app and reopen the Web app in browser?
Thanks BigWheel, that someone looking at the back end solved the problem because I can now log right in. Excellent and many thanks!
