How to force server setup

Server Version#:1.25.2.5319
Player Version#:web 4.66.1
QNAP TVS471 x86_64 QTS 5.0.0.1858

I was dumb enough to remove the NAS server from the list of authorised devices, and now, impossible to get it back.
I always get to the web player, without server, and there is no way to get the server back.

For the life of me I cannot force server setup… I know this has been posted multiple times already, but I just can’t get it to work.

I’ve factory reseted the NAS, tried http://(ip address):32400/web/index.html#!/setup, http://(ip address):32400/manage/index.html#!/setup, too, and it just tells me there seems to be no server… I am connected on my local network together with the NAS, and the webplayer works at this IP address !
I’ve tried with a new account, logging in and out, rebooting, using different devices, deleting the app on the NAS and reinstalling, reinstalling older versions… nothing. Still the same dumb message telling me that it seems no servers
this is driving me nuts

has anyone a trick that garantees a forced fresh clean vanilla install that works ? I’m desperate, please help !

Are the server and the web client on the same local network? If not, try the suggestions in the “On a Different Network” section of this document:

It describes how to use an SSH tunnel to perform the initial setup of the server, which is required if the client and server are on different networks. This is only needed for the initial setup; once the server is claimed you can access it normally.

Thanks. Yes, they are on the same local network.

Is the local network in private address space?

Dammit why didn’t i think of it !
Yup, that did it, private space, the second i updated my router settings…
Can’t believe how much time i wasted on that one :sob::sob::sob::sob::sob::sob::sob::sob::sob:

If you could do a sticky about it, I’m sure that will be of help for others in the future.

Many many thanks, you saved my life ! topic closed
