Where is Server Setup on the Navigation?

Server Version#: QTS 5.1.0.2466
Player Version#: Not a player, logged in to app.plex.tv

I’ve actually had this NAS and been using Plex for years but had to get a new Plex.tv account. I updated the firmware on the NAS to the latest, bought a new Plex Lifetime Pass, installed the latest Plex software on the NAS and ran the app.

It asked me to login to Plex which I did (Google SSO), and then I’m brought to a page with all these free movies or whatever. Instructional setup videos say that I should be presented with the Server Setup page, which I’m not. Instructional videos say just refresh the page and Server Setup will show up. It doesn’t.

I’ve looked in the left hand nav (LiveTV, Movies and Shows, Discover) and in the Settings menu with the wrench. There is nothing in the navigation when I’m authenticated that allows me to setup a server (i.e. connect plex.tv up to my NAS).

Any ideas for me? I feel like I’m going crazy because this has always been so easy.

You and the server must be on the same RFC-1918 network subnet

Did you look at the FAQ?

Yep, the NAS and my laptop are all on the same network and subnet. NAS is x.x.x.200 and my laptop is x.x.x.18.

You mentioned you’ve already had a PMS running on the machine in the past. There’s a chance that your new installation found some of the old server’s data and considers it’s still linked to your old account (btw: you could also kept using the old account to revive your server).

TL;DR:
Please open http://x.x.x.200:32400/identity (using the actual IP address of the QNAP) and check for an section/attribute claimed=„…“. Is the attribute’s value a 1 or a 0?

If it’s a 1, you’ll need to manually unlink it from the old account and reclaim it.

If you actually want to start from scratch, you might want to delete the PlexData folder mentioned in the guide above (instead of tinkering with the configuration files)
