I don't want to sign in - my local network (LAN )should suffice - why forced WAN access?

If I’m on my PC, I don’t want to sign in. I just want to look at my selection of movies on my local server.

Why does this happen?

More importantly, but how can I avoid this?

If I choose to cut my internet off, I still can use my locahost IP. I should still be able to run a local area network (LAN) in my home, without an internet connection to the WAN. PC to TV, requires only LAN, no WAN or internet necessary.

1)I log into my localhost
http://192.168.xx.xx:32400/web/index.html

2)I’m redirected to an Online webhost

Undesirable.

Don’t sign into your server. If your server is signed in, that implies you want to limit access to a particular Plex account, so we have to authenticate it’s you when using a client. Keep in mind that Plex Web is what manages your server. Without authenticating it’s you, anybody on your network would be able to access your server and change anything they want.

As I said in my other response, Old topic : plex without internet connection, you only need to do this once per client.

And after you’ve done it once, there is a setting that you can set to allow other clients to access without needing to authenticate. If PMS is running on your PC, you cannot exclude the PC itself.

Try going to “Settings” on your Plex server and then select “Network”. Near the bottom of page where it says “List of IP addresses and networks that are allowed without auth” enter 192.168.0.0/24 or whatever is being used by you for your LAN address range. This should cover all Plex devices on your local network.

So I tried this. NOT SUCCESSFUL. I did not sign in. I simply turned on my NAS. Still brings me to https://app.plex.tv/auth/
