I recently updated and now Plex is not loading on my Samsung TV

Same issue here after just spending one and a half hours removing and re-installing then failing to link then finally getting it to work then closing and black screen on re-open… completely wrecked my evening. The Mrs gave up and took off to her office to watch crap on her PC. This is just ■■■■… something is always broken.

It would behoove the Plex team to update the status.plex.tv page to reflect an accurate status of “Smart TV Apps”.

I’m using plex on Unraid via docker version Version 1.25.3.5409
Running on plex on a Samsung 6 TV (UN60KU6300)
Version 5.10.0 last updated on 04/22/2021

Same story, was watching plex a few nights ago and tried to connect and just get a black screen
I have tried

  • removing the tv from the authorized devices and tried to re-connect - Still black screen.
  • Removed the plex app from the TV - Re-added still same result
  • Considering updating the plex docker version to 1.25.5.5492 - I have not done this yet

Same issue here with a Sony TV, works just fine on the mobile or on the computer but not on the TV app.

Maybe you should update the current status on status.plex.tv since it now wrongly says all systems operational.

Appreciate the quick restoration of service @dane22.

In an ideal world bugs wouldn’t occur but in the real world they do (devs / testers are human). My measure of success is the communication and response when things go wrong! Plex gets this right more often than the other big outfits I deal with.

Still not working for me. Have the latest version of Plex running, logged out/in, reinstalled. Works fine on browser and on my Roku, just not on my Samsung Frame tv. Any ideas?
