I recently updated and now Plex is not loading on my Samsung TV

Try and uninstall on TV, power off, and unplug power cord for 2 min.
Then reinstall, and please report back, as well as tell us the exact model of your Samsung TV

I will give it a go

It worked  Thanks very much

Mines now doing this. I can see everything but once I start the video it just goes black & then says an error occurred.

Try hint above

Not related, please start a new thread, and add more details, like PMS logs right after it happens

Samsung Model Number UN32N5300AF reloads Client Version 5.32.1 Platform version 4 each time so the work around is not working here.

I’m still having problems with the latest Tizen Plex app v5.32.1
Samsung The Frame 2021 (QE55LS03AAUXXN) on Tizen 6.0
Plex Media Server v1.25.6.5577 on Ubuntu 20.04.4

The Plex app now changes to Direct Stream instead of Direct Play when playing larger (8gb+) files which causes my server to transcode. Losing sound occasionally as well.

Can’t use Plex anymore on Samsung TV. I have tried all the recommended solutions and nothing works. Absolutely disappointing!

Tried everything here and my 2017 Samsung TV won’t play anything. Any server content. Won’t play Plex free content. Can’t even play trailers on info pages.

I’m having the same issue Plex app version 5.32.1 on Samsung UE50NU7470 have tried the fix suggested above but I’m still getting the black screen and nothing playing, also happening on my other Samsung TV but I don’t have the model number for it.

Appreciate any help!

I 2 have the problem, Thursday I saw movies at my UE55NU74754 with no problem, yesterday I just got a black screen and no play back, so I checked and yes latest update was 08/04-2022 (Friday)
I have tried the suggestions, nothing worked.

Hopefully plex will fix the error, sooner that later.

I experienced this same problem, “Playback Error - An unexpected playback problem has occurred.” This began about 3 weeks ago. I tried all the above mentioned “fixes”, yet I continue to have issues with the Plex App found on my 2016 Samsung 9565 4K TV. All other devices with the Plex app works, eg. Samsung Note 8, Samsung Galaxy S7 Tablet, 2 Roku sticks, and CPU Plex Media Server. The Plex App will load all the movies, music, etc. but will not play them. However, if I try some of the latest Plex features, eg. Plex Movies, Plex Podcasts, etc, these items play.

Same issue here. For the last few days 1080P content takes a long time to load and 4k content stalls until a playback error is reported. I can hear the NAS hard drive and fan working hard. This renders Plex all but unusable on our Samsung TV. Most recent Plex server on our NAS and most recent Plex app on our TV, which is our primary device, but this content streams fine on our phones, tablets, etc. @dane22 is Plex aware that there is still a very serious issue here?

All these issues do not sound like the original posts’ issue, which is the app not loading. If you’re having playback issues, please post in on of the other existing posts and include some logs. If you’re still having issues with the app on load, then please post here.

Plex no longer working on my UN55MU6300FXZA, it was getting stuck on a black screen trying to load. Tried reinstalling and resetting the TV and now it’s stuck getting Error Code 118 when trying to install the app from the Samsung store

Try this:

  • Uninstall if possible
  • Pull out the power cord from the TV, and leave it out for 5 min
  • Connect again, and then try to install

Yep I’ve tried power cycling, manual DNS set, and updating. The Samsung support guy told me to do all this but ended up saying the TV is just not compatible with Plex, which felt dismissive since it was working less than a week ago lol

Hmm, according to our devs it is, and since still in Sansungs Playstore, I recommend you try a complete factory reset of your TV
