Identify tracks that are members of playlists

This is a “nice to have” feature that occurred to me while browsing through my music library.
I have a few playlists that I created when that feature was introduced. As I am browsing through my music library, I’m looking at the track list for a particular album. It would be nice if, on the list of tracks, there were some indication that the track is a member of a playlist. Perhaps a small icon appearing somewhere on the line. I’ve mocked up an example below.

It would also be nice if there were a way to jump to the playlist containing the track. This would probably be much more complicated, though, since a track can belong to multiple playlists. Maybe bring up a list of associated playlists to choose from?

I’d also like to add that having that feature as a column you can choose to show in “Tracks” view (like you can with bitrate or star rating) would be awesome.

I cannot believe this suggestion seems to have been unattended for 5 years. This is a great feature which I would also require.
In an ideal world, Plex should indicate that content belongs to any playlist (not only linked to your logged user, but any declared user in the environement). It would avoid the admin removing content that is actually still part of something another user would be enjoying.

Unless there is a existing workaround or feature I am not aware of. Happy to learn !
Thanks

I would like to see that feature in the near future, since now I have my movies on multiple playlist, only because I didn’t know I already added them to a list.

The more I use Plexamp, the less Roon, the more I miss such little features as this request.

PLEASE PLEASE add what playlist or collections an album is already assigned to.

I have very large video playlists. Problem is videos randomly disappear from the playlist over time and it’s very hard to figure out which ones disappeared. Here is my question, is there a way that when I am looking through my movie collection that it will have some sort of tick mark or some way to identify that it already belongs to a playlist so I don’t have to continuously go back and forth from my library to playlist to check and see if it’s still in there? It’s very frustrating to try and figure out what disappeared and impossible to get it back unless you re add them manually.

There is an existing request for this feature. Rather than splitting votes across multiple threads, please add your vote there.

To be fair, in your request you are mentioning explicitly the Roku, which could be misunderstood as if your request only applies to that client type.
And your thread title could be more descriptive as well.

Ok, well I did not mention Roku at all. I am referring to the web interface. What would be your suggestion on a more descriptive title? If there is an existing request for this same thing, I will make adjustments accordingly.

I was answering @beckfield

Sorry, I missed that.

Fair points. Mine can probably be closed then.

Hi,

A simple example of what I think.
Simples informations to display the playlists in which track is belong

Cheers

Mod-Edit: merged threads to maintain/keep the example in the original thread (older, more votes, same target)

This is exactly what I’m looking for. I recently started using PlexAmp a few months ago and as I play songs in the web interface I add them to playlists. I’m playing on shuffle mostly so I have no idea if I’ve added the current song to any playlists. I’m sure I’m adding songs to the same playlists 2 or 3 times.

Thank you

When adding a video to a playlist, it would help if I could see which playlist the video is already in. So please add e.g. an option to the video menu to show the playlist(s) for this video

Something that I’ve felt is needed for a long time is the ability to see whether a particular track is already included in a playlist. You could expand the track’s “Edit” Info panel to also include a list of Playlists that the track is included in. That would be a pretty great quality of life addition.

I add music to my playlists but often forget where I have added certain songs/artists/album.

I would love for the music I browse to display the playlists on which I have added it. This means that I have two options:

  • to re-add it to be sure it is present on said playlist
  • to browse the playlist and look for the said track

I thing it would be great if:
When browsing an Artist or Album there could be a segment saying: Appears on playlists x, y, z
When clicking on a track Add to playlist (at the very least) should show which playlist this song is already a part of.

This is definetly useful.

This would be a handy feature for anyone who manually creates playlists, which is something that I do a lot. Some of my playlists are very large, which makes if very difficult to browse for a specific song to verify whether it has been added or not.
