I’m finding a consistent issue between all Android apps on plex. Anytime I try and stream IPTV to my mobile device, or Android tvs, it will open the stream but then crash after about 15 seconds.

The issue does not persist on chrome, Samsung tv, or Apple OS devices. This seems to be consistent with just Android only.

Has anyone else had this issue?

Are you able to collect the logs? https://support.plex.tv/articles/201573117-android-android-tv-fire-tv-logs/

Plex Media Server.log (8.0 MB)

Hopefully this was what you’re looking for! I’m trying to watch a live stream on my Android device. It works perfectly fine if I stream through Chrome on my Android device, but as soon as I try to use the Plex Android app, it won’t work for seemingly more than 30 seconds.

That file I shared initially was the server log. Here is the android app logs I pulled for the error.
Android App Issue.txt (67.4 KB)

Adding one more log. I’m really hoping to get this resolved! Any help is greatly appreciated
Android App Issue2.txt (200.2 KB)

I also grabbed the logs from my Chromecast which has the same persistent issue. As mentioned I can play LiveTV on my Samsung TV, or iOS devices and Chrome browser no problems whatsoever.

Sorry just realized I wasn’t tagging you in my other replies.

Thanks! We’ll look at those and get back to you.

Thanks very much, it would mean a lot to me. Greatly appreciated!

Exactly the same thing happens with live tv with an nvidia server and a Hauppauge WinTV-dualHD tuner
It is not seen on any device only in web plex. And on the web it cuts out and only the SD channels are seen and choppy, the HD ones don’t even load… in case it helps…

Does the app crash for you completely? Looks like the error is handled gracefully and an error dialog is shown, can you confirm that?

No I just get playback error every time.
And given that comes after somewhere between a minute to 5 minutes, it makes the viewing experience unwatchable.
I have tested the same settings using jelly fin and everything appears to work totally fine. So I’m quite confident the IPTV setup is okay.

What are your profile’s audio & subtitle settings? It may be related to my issue.

If the error appears: There was an error while attempting to tune the selected channel. Please check your connection and try again.

I don’t think we have the same issue.
When I tried plugging the IPTV into jellyfin, everything worked seamlessly. This is a Plex problem.
Honestly beginning the question why I spent the money on the Plex pass when jellyfin seems to work much better

Can’t quite see why it’s going wrong when attempting to direct play, the logs show that ExoPlayer is unable to access the source stream so it can’t load the data.

It should be falling back to transcoding which is throwing an error, which I think I’ve fixed in the build below. Would you be able to give it a try? Could you then fetch the logs again from the client.
