@binhex1 and @chrisallen couldn’t you (plex) just put the additional logging in the main trunk build and enable/disable it by config? That would presumably be no more work for binhex and other NAS builders, then people actually experiencing the problem (like me) could enable the logs and supply them to you?
Hi all
I am also having the spinning issue. My PMS is on a QNAP 251+ NAS. I have read through the solutions and have the following issues:
I want to do a clean install of Plex PMS and start from scratch. I have uninstalled the PMS several times and reinstalled it on the NAS. Each time my previous settings reappear. I have Putty’d in and deleted all the plex folders hoping that will delete my settings. Still no luck. Where are these settings so I can delete and start from scratch?
I have also tried to install previous versions of PMS and also the latest beta but with each one of these when I access the web interface I get the 404 error. Only the 1402 version allows me to web interface in.
I guess what I am asking is how do I completely uninstall the PMS from my 251+ NAS which will allow me to start over and why am I getting the 404 error with other versions.

I am having the same issue, I don’t want to roll back to an old version of PMS, worried about loosing all my custom metadata etc. Is it possible for me to wait for plex to fix this in an upcoming server release… im happy to delete and re-setup the DVR and i have purchased the guide data from ice TV but I dont want to roll back to fix the problem, so hoepfully I can just wait it out… let me know if this is ok Plex People
Still having issues trying to add a DVR. I previously had it working, before the bugged releases came out. After they did come out, I tried to resolve the issues I was seeing by removing and re-adding the DVR. Never ended up getting the DVR to re-add. Still can’t re-add the DVR. Getting the infamous “There was a problem saving your DVR. Please try again.”
Mine is broken also. Version 1.11.0.4633. Error when adding in a HD Homerun Connect tuner with the message “error communicating with provider”. Of course trying to refresh the program guide fails, so I can’t schedule any recordings either.
This has been going on quite a while, when do we get a fix?
So to continue on with this saga, I deleted the DVR set up, and tried to re-set it up. It sees all of the HD Homerun Connect tuners, scans the channels fine, goes to the next screen and asks me my language and zip code, but will not light the continue button so that the TV guide can be refreshed.
So still stuck, after trying to re-install the DVR…
You’ll need to upgrade to 1.16.1 or newer, due to a change in EPG provider.
I have my server on an Nvidia-- and installing the DVR also wont get past the zip code problem. Nvidia will not let me uninstall Plex. I installed a plex server on my laptop (windows 10) -accessing the same HD Home run DUO and it downloaded the EPG fine.
Thus it appears the windows server problem is solved— but not the Nvidia server— any thoughts?
I have two PMS running, one on Linux and other Windows 10.
I have no problems with DVR and Live TV on the Linux box, but on the Windows box, with latest release of Windows 10 Build 1903 and latest PMS version, it starts recording but never saves the file. Attached is log file, any help will be much appreciated.
Plex Media ServerLog.txt (2.8 MB)
BTW, the drive I am saving to is a local RAID array. Does that matter?
Looks like permission issues on H:\TVShows
Are both servers trying to write to the same location and perhaps altered the ownership?
No, the Linux box writes on its own drive and Windows box writes on software RAID array in its box (so to speak
)
I might drop and recreate the array to see if the problem goes away.
