I think the trouble with „The Three Stooges“ is that they’re listed as different media types in the different repositories used by Plex to obtain their metadata:
- TheTVDb have listed them as a show
- The Movie Database have listed them as individual movies because they initially aired as short films
I’ve seen a number of attempts to make this work. Without being able to verify this myself at the moment… what seems to work is including the TVDb ID of their show in the folder name: … {tvdb-79173} and possibly doing a Plex Dance to get Plex to use the new reference.
Two side notes:
- This won’t force plex to use „only“ metadata from TVDb… it just provides a hint as for what „show“ this is and avoids matching based on TMDb.
- Based on TheTVDb, the year the „show“ first aired is 1934 (despite there being an special going back to 1933)
