Legacies metadata is blank

Server Version#:1.14.0.5470

I’ve tried pulling the metadata on two seperate plex servers both running the above version but the metadata comes back with the pics but no show information or titles. Can someone take a look at the cache servers and see if there was a problem? The information is there on https://www.thetvdb.com/series/legacies

And I do have it set to use TheTVDB for finding the metadata. I have tried removing the show from a scanned folder and then Scanning the Library and then Cleaning Bundles but I get the same results. I have also tried updating Metadata but no love there either.

It looks like it’s wrong on the caching server.

Thanks in advance,

Wes

make sure there are no embedded metadata in your files stirring things up:

Go to

  • Settings - Server - Agents - Shows - TheTVDB

In there, grab the line ‘Local Media Assets’ with your mouse and drag it downwards, so it ends up being at the bottom of the stack of active agents.
Repeat the same under

  • Settings - Server - Agents - Shows - TheMovieDatabase
  • Settings - Server - Agents - Movies - Plex Movie
  • Settings - Server - Agents - Movies - TheMovieDatabase

delete the cache of metadata agents

https://support.plex.tv/articles/202967376-clearing-plugin-channel-agent-http-caches/

perform the Plex Dance

I do have the Local Media Assets on the bottom of the list. It is only this one TV show that it’s happening with and it’s happening with two physically different Plex Servers. So I don’t see how the cache of the metadata agents would be the problem. It seems like it’s the source it’s pulling from is just wrong.

Having same issue. No meta data. every other show/movie is file.

Correction-
TODAY- two versions of legacies show up When you Fix match. One at 99% one at 96%
99% has No metadata. 96% HAS full metal data.

Ok, but yet when I look on TheTVDB I only see one. So that leads me to believe there is an error in the caching servers that Plex runs for TheTVDB metadata. Can someone look?

Thanks!

Wes

I am having the same issue with Legacies and blank metadata. Tried what OttoKerner suggested but still have the same result. Any other ideas as to fix this problem? This is only happening to this one show.

Add me to the list. I have been trying to fix for days and have not been able to. Searched the web and found this thread, at least it’s not only me.

I ended up just manually editing the series copying the info from TVDB’s website.

Yeah, but we shouldn’t have to do that. It should pull from TheTVDB and the Plex Caching servers if they are caching correctly.

Couple of ways to fix it (or at least both these got me the correct match with metadata).

Go to the series and choose “Fix Match” and choose the second option (the one with 96 rather than 99)

leg

Not sure what the one with 99 is, as I could only find one show called Legacies on the TVDB (at least with English language)

or choose search options and change the agent to The Movie Database

I agree that is a work around. It just seems like someone needs to go and purge the Legacies match that comes up at 99%

Hey OttoKerner, can you get someone to look at the Plex Caching servers for TheTVDB and purge the wrong or false Legacies?

Sorry, I can’t do such thing.

After clicking on the second hit, to which metadata agent is the show then actually matched?
(Inspect the Plex XML info of an episode to determine it. There is a hint in the guid=" property.)

When we choose the second hit it goes to:
guid=“com.plexapp.agents.thetvdb://349309/1/13?lang=en”

For the first hit is:
guid=“local://11955”

Pretty sad that this is still not fixed even after almost 4 months or so…

Please show me the actual file and folder names you are using for that show.

As named per FileBot. …

Also attached is TheTVDB Page

I honestly doubt the 7 people on this thread all have the same files causing the same problem.

I had a similar problem years ago on post
https://forums.plex.tv/t/scraping-indexing-issue-salem-tv-show/66236/14

chrisc had noticed a bug in TheTVDB Agent while I doubt this is the same issue, perhaps he would be so kind as to take a look?

Thank you in advance!

Wes

Change the folder name of the show folder from Legacies to Legacies (2018).
Then perform the Plex Dance with the whole show.
Monitor further behaviour, when new episodes get added.

See I would normally agree with you, but that’s not how the show is listed on TheTVDB. It’s listed as “Legacies” not “Legacies (2018)” on TheTVDB.

Why don’t you try it?
The first episode of season one was aired in the year 2018. Hence why adding 2018 could improve the matching.
I add the year to all my tv shows now. I get instant matching for all of them.
