I have a few video in my library that when I do a scan it will not show up on plex. how do I fix this?
Please show us a screen capture from the file system, so we can see the exact naming and layout of the files, starting from the root of the library all the way down to the medias
Yeah, it’s most likely a naming issue. Make sure to follow the Plex Movie Naming article. Particularly, be sure to include the release year of the movie when naming it. Also, go to TheMovieDB for the proper name for the movie, as Plex searches their database with your filename in order to detect and match the movie. Some movies may not have the name you expect, such as the first Indiana Jones movie of the 3 that have come out (THERE ARE ONLY 3! /crying) being called “Raider of the Lost Ark”, not “Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark”.
Note: You may need to Plex Dance the movies if you rename them to make sure Plex picks it up properly. Once Plex matches a movie (incorrectly), a rename will not trigger a match again on the file.
