We’re working on that on Android TV too
Really? That’s one I don’t see on the 2019 Shield Pro. No sync issues, but the server also isn’t transcoding the audio. Glorious passthrough! As long as I can actually get the file to play, it’s golden.
And yeah, I realize this is only one of the myriad Android TV clients out there. Anything that can’t do passthrough could certainly exhibit the problem.
Anyway, thanks for the time on this. If you need a tester at some point just let me know.
Thanks, will do! If you haven’t already, feel free to sign up to our betas
@ionblue I suspect this might be a server issue when it transcodes the TrueHD audio stream to FLAC. Does it happen from the beginning? Or it starts fine but then gets worse with time?
Can you provide me a sample file where you can notice the error? (Instructions: https://support.plex.tv/articles/201035968-generating-sample-files-from-media/ )
Thanks!
Generally it happens all the way through for me and it’s off just enough to be noticeable. My wife isn’t as critical as I am with these things so when she notices and comments on it l know it isn’t just me.
I will say that after turning on DD format, testing, then turning it off again, and starting the file where I left it, it was way worse than I’ve ever seen it. Not sure why though.
I’ll work on getting you a sample file. Heck, if I can manage it I’d be happy to give you an entire file. They are a tad large though.
Thank you! I’d rather have a small sample file if possible, they’re easier to share and analyze.
Basically I want the server to generate the audio & video streams it sends to the Apple TV app, but instead capture that stream data and play it in some other player to see if it also happens there. If it does, it would mean the server has an issue generating the audio stream.
Yep. I’m doing that right now. Then I’ll go though and try to find a segment with as much dialogue as possible. And I think you’re probably right about the server being the issue. Let’s see what happens.
The other caveat is that there’s a receiver in the mix as well. A Denon 3500h to be exact. Shouldn’t matter, but something to keep in mind.
Alright. I have a few files for you. I tested these, but didn’t outright see the issue so maybe it does build up over time. This is the exact file I had sent in the logs and one I noticed it on before. Maybe it got fixed with the latest server update and client update which happened yesterday evening for me. 2 of the files are 2 minutes long and one is 5 minutes long (and that’s a pretty big file).
Let me know when you’ve grabbed these so I can remove them.

Thanks @ionblue! I just downloaded them, feel free to remove the files now
I just tested those sample files and as you say I didn’t notice any problem.
Can you check if you have the same problem when you use your TV speakers directly? I wonder if that makes a difference.
I’m having the same issue. Nothing is helping.
