@wally007 Yeah I highly doubt it has anything to do with ffmpeg either. That doesn’t really make any sense that would work for the admin user and no one else. And let’s not forget that everybody that is struggling with this broken feature paid to use it.
@morganj Its been two months since an update, what is going on with this?
@all other users, when this thread reaches one year of age I will be interested in filing a class action lawsuit on behalf of all the users that pay for this feature. If you would be interested being a party let me know.
@pl_5309 So you believe it appropriate that plex ignores user concerns over a feature that they paid for and has not worked in two years? You don’t think consumer fraud is a legal issue? Their attorney, Angelo Spinello, has already reviewed the matter and says no problem exists. He emailed that to me only a short time before an emplyee on this thread acknowledged that a problem DOES exist. I recognize you are new to this thread, but it would probably be in your best interest to review the entire thing before suggesting that we don’t take the last resort. Everything else has been tried. There is no other way, aside from legal email and public forum to contact these people, they block every other avenue of contact.
Trust that there have been many emails between myself, Plex’s lead counsel and the attorney general already. It seems pretty clear that they are not going to do anything about this without prodding, just look at how long it has been since a Plex employee has even given an update on the issue. Just sitting here for years on end waiting for something to change is crazy, these users deserve to get what they paid for.
@BigWheel@Atomatth , you have both commented on other threads related to this topic and/or directed users here. It appears @morganj has abandoned the thread, so perhaps you can provide an update as to where this issue stands?
@jeby6 said in another thread that they resolved the issue by ensuring the server had write access to the recording folder. I cannot reproduce. @wally007 , @gloves259 , can either of you test
It has nothing to do with system permissions obviously.
In online sources - I enabled Live TV (the garbage Plex online Live TV ) for all users.
Then I logged in with admin user into plex web, switched to managed user and enabled Live TV for that user under account settings (I think that what its called)
Logged in with admin user on iPad, switched to managed user - (the terrestial, in my case DVB-T2 as I am in EU) Live TV works.
Then I went back and Disabled online Live TV for everybody again as an admin.
(my plex server is still the same - linux container running under Fedora and using podman instead of docker)
Sure would be nice if the plex devs would figure out why subtitles are so broken and or just give the option to turn off all subs unless client chooses them on my server language settings and fixing the options for NONE and adding a NEVER option. I’m frustrated with having to disable subs and it still failing to not burn in, or just crashing the stream all together.
