Seems the migrigation to Gracenote isn’t done yet despite Plex’s promise to add support for those countries later during the month of December. Seen Plex or any of their employees aren’t willing to communicate on the status, I’m afraid those countries won’t be added soon or even not at all.
Hope i’m wrong, but right know it doesn’t feel good at all and makes the Plex Pass has a lot less value for the money for users in those countries.
Exactly, completely agree with you, I am surprised of this situation because before everything was working nicely and now, from one moment to another, I lost the TV DVR function.
I wouldn’t mind so much if at least I could watch the channels but it seems without EPG this is not possible.
Just got an announcement email from Plex asking us all to migrate DVR. I want to confirm for the USA, if I have already deleted and re-added (aka migrated) after Jan 1, 2021, I am done.
Hi
I just receive the mail, so I need to delete now or after the 15 January ?
Thanks in advance
2020 or 2021 ? I have the same answer …
Is there any way to export the current info to a human readable file so I can capture the program names? I have a bunch of programs that because no new episodes are scheduled within the next few days, they cannot be found in the guide, but I want to add them so they automatically get recorded when new episodes arrive …
Do I need to do this again if I did it in response to your last message? I deleted my old lineup and reloaded it. Much better match for me by the way. But are you changing again?
Yes. I had to delete and recreate each show. I took a picture of the list, so it was easier to remember.
If you can see upcoming shows past 1/15 then you are all set.
For those of us who set up our DVR using xmltv from an external source (generated via EPG123 which I carried over from WMC), will that continue working after this update or is some action required on our part? I assume that since I’ve never drawn on the TiVo data nothing should change for my setup, but just want to make sure none of the plumbing that allows that is being modified.
Just deleted the DVR in Plex and recreated. At first, nothing resembling the channels in my local area appeared in the guide. I am using 2 HDHomeRun tuners and the proper channels were found in the scan.
I had to delete and recreate again for my local channels to appear in the guide. The problem is that a series of channels available in my local area (all the 8.x) channels, has nothing to which they can be associated. These channels were working fine in the previous guide but do not appear to be available in Gracenote.
I am in the Salt Lake City market. I had several shows set to record from 8.2 (Decades) and that is now not an option.
I don’t know what zip code you selected but if I try to set up 84044 I am getting the 8.1-8.3
channels.
If you are using xmltv file you don’t need to do anything. This is only for those that are using the Tivo guide data as that will stop working.
One option would be to do a screen snip of the recording priority list. That is what I used.
If your DVR setup shows a number of channels in parenthesis you are using the Gracenote Guide data now so you do not need to delete and recreate the DVR.
If you have not already switched over to the Gracenote guide data you need to do it before the date specified. I would personally do it sooner rather than later.
You can always try 84044. Doesn’t necessarily have to be a match to your exact zip code. As long as the channels match.
So I am assuming that if I elect to stay with the IceTV guide in my DVR setup, none of the Gracenote stuff/changeover/update will have anything to do with my recordings?
Thanks. That appears to have done the trick and 8.1, 8.2 and 8.3 show up now in the guide. I would not have known which zip codes worked and which did not so I am glad you found one that did work.
