After raising this with the development team, it turned out to be just an issue with the order of the two filters,
The primary filter is actually the second filter - the one that gives you option to select Movies, Shows, Episodes, Sports
The secondary filter for that selection is the first one on the left
So it is working as designed, but the presentation of the two filters gives rise to the confusion. Only the mobile apps have the filters showing the other way round
These are similar filters to what is in place for libraries and is not just for Browse Guide
Did you manually match the show or is the EPG metadata preserved ?
Do you have any forthcoming similar airings that i can look into ? would need channel number / lineup / and show name/episode name and air times
I need to establish if the issue is due to manually matching or we have a problem with use of post processing scripts for date based episodes.
get me the media info xml to see if we lost the origin:dvr indicator after the post processing
I can try and reproduce it
If it is manually matched as opposed to preserving the epg metadata, then getting repeated recordings would happen as the unique identifier is changed from that in the EPG - that is why we no longer match recordings and we preseve the EPG metadata
Suggest gathering diagnostic logs and raising a separate forum topic
In your post indicate what channels were being tried and if the problem is on all channels and which Plex client app it happens on and if the same is on all apps that you use. Also indicate the time of the test and time of failure and what the failure was. It is best to start gathering diagnostics after a fresh launch of the server and the client app(s)
For diagnostics - see the linked server logs support article and for the client app - see the relevant logs support article - scroll through to “Player Apps and Platforms” on the support articles home page Support Articles | Plex Support and then select the logs related article for the app in use
Thanks for sending me the details. It is possible there is an issue when having a post processing script run after the recordings for date based episodes.
I will try and reproduce this with airings from your channel 056 SUPRTL (Super RTL)
The xml you sent me shows we lost the DVR source indicator on the processed mkv item
field origin="dvr" in the media info xml
I know it’s not your fault, but I’m getting frustrated that they’re being lazy and way to expedite this. This clearly is simple and quick for them to do.
I tried post processing a recording for a date based episode from that channel and the DVR origin indication remained.
My Test was for for 2017-12-22 episode of Die Neue Looney Tunes Show
Post Processing script running on the .ts file

and after this PMS detecting that it is now an MKV

and the media info xml for the recording does still have the origin="dvr" setting in the <Media> block
The script that I run does the following
1. copy recording .ts file to a conversion temp folder - with verify option
2. if copy ok, runs handbrake cli with output being an mkv file
3. if handbrake run ok, move the mkv file to the original recording folder alongside the .ts file
4. if move ok, delete the original .ts recording file
Plex Commercial Skipper runs by PMS after my post processing script
My script is removing the original .ts file after successful post processing and converting it to an mkv. could you try that
I would need to see debug server logs if it continues to go wrong (together with media info xml and details of what was recorded and when)
The airing I recorded in the above test was for 11:30 am GMT today 20th March
Would it be possible to add BBC One East Midlands to my lineup please ?
I am in the UK, using Freeview channel source, with my postcode DE73 I can only select BBC One West Midlands (which is from Sutton Coldfield transmitter), but actually I use the Waltham transmitter which transmits BBC One East Midlands.
Adding another BBC One variation to West Midlands lineups would give rise to duplicate channel numbers appearing in the lineup and that could give rise to issues for other users when channel numbers are auto matched
All I can suggest is for you to pretend that you live in the East Midlands and provide an East Midlands post code when setting the DVR instead of your West Midlands DE73 post code
True, but the East Midlands is served by many different transmitters that carry different regional programming from East Midlands, West Midlands to Anglia.
In my region to get my local news I have to use Freesat to get Anglia, as the transmitter goes by West Midlands.
If gracenote have a West Midlands channel for an East Midlands post code then that is wrong and we need to ask for it to be corrected - the change may impact other users. I do not to request having both East and West channels as duplicate vcn’s in lineups cause problems
I have referred this to Gracenote as they have Derby with a West Midlands location Freeview lineup and also both Freeview and Local Broadcast Lineups have BBC One West Midlands
