My Synology DS918+ running PLEX is also seeing the same issue. I’ve just been putting up with error hoping for a fix to show up. A few updates later, still no fix.
But just like everyone else, while watching Live TV from my HDHomerun Quartro via PLEX (not recording) and as soon as the show ends, BAM back to the beginning for a split second then it errors out (Playback Error - This Live TV Session Has Ended). Also happens while recording. ¯_(ツ)_/¯
This is NOT fixed. The server says I’m up to date (Server Version 1.20.5.3562 (on Fedora), Web client Version 4.43.4 in Chrome, pair of HdHomeRun Extend receivers) . It actually just started happening to me after the latest update. Recording also randomly fails now. No issues until this past week!

While the issue appears to be fixed, I keep experiencing an issue just as bad where live tv will randomly just stop, web player says Playback Error - This live TV session has ended; Fire Stick just goes back to preview screen… Anyone else experiencing this? Is this a known issue being worked on? Should I start a new thread or is there an existing thread on this? Tuner: HDHomeRun Prime.

Yes @clueo8, I have a similar issue, where live TV just stops, for no reason on the web player, but I am yet to put my finger on it, but the issue where programs would stop at the end of their schedule on the EPG has gone.
I will play my tv this afternoon whilst tailing the log on the server, and see what happens. I did think it was HDD space, but thats fine. I will report back.

well, I’ve been streaming BBC1 for the last 4 hours, and PMS has slipped from “Doctors”, to “Impossible” to “Escape to the country” to “Money for nothing” to “Antiques Road Trip” to “Pointless”, without a hiccup or ‘Playback Error’ anywhere. Looks like Plex have fixed the issue
What I did notice was that the amount of time I can go back in a Live TV show is now only about 8 mins… Im sure it was unlimited before.

Maybe it’s just for shows that I set to record, but I like to watch them while they are recording… Can you try recording a show and watching it while its recording?

I can report that this particlar issue has been resolved for me, here’s the but… I did have to completely uninstall Plex player , delete folder in C:\Program Files\Plex then reinstall the latest vesion 1.23. Then got these really annoying messages several times I needed to update to 1.xx even though it was updating to version lower than 1.23. Also the web version seems fixed (I hope) Still have a big problem with it NOT recoding series just one episode aven though I set repeated episodes seems fine on ch4 but definitely happens on Blaze. Was intending to use this as areplcement for my Freesat box, it died Saturday I’ve had to prurchase another one I really can’t trust Plex to record the things I set. Anyone have any experience of Homerun PVR ? it’s only 1$ more but if it’s reliable that’s what I need not features I haven’t even asked for !
Just a thought on this @drushmer67_gmail_com, where are you pulling your EPG data from? my thought was that the EPG data from Plex might not be the same for each episode of the program you are watching. So it might be worth changing your EPG source? I dont know what country you are in, but I have series recording ok from this source http://www.xmltv.co.uk/feeds. Anyway, just a thought.

I wasn’t aware I could change source , I thought that was what I was paying Plex for ? sorry in UK
you can specify an external source of XMLTV file when you setup the tuner, and then once you set it up, you can get Plex to add extra information (I think it fills the EPG with pictures, but not exactly sure what this option does)… it was just an avenue I thought I would share if you are having an issue with EPG data.
Thanks for the suggestion I might look into it , but call it a stange idea I thought I was purchasing a finished product. So the outlay of Homerun then Plex every month and my hardware. As am I’m IT support I have pleanty of my own hardware (yes I’m sad I bring my work home and now I live with it !) Should I have to tweak to make it work ? I spend all day talking users through IT issues, mostly I’d just like to finish work and watch TV not fix it !
