I’m using HDHomerun DUO on a Mac. Fully updated OS and PLEX still not working.
I tend to play with Pis for fun, taken a a while to find decent version for Debian, managed to get 1.20 when I found some good instructions.(Playback ok but menu laggy Pi4 4gb) All my work is win 10 on a very restricted build and after 7.5 hrs had enough of MS unless I’m playing games , even then I’ve got Switches As for windows I didn’t uninstall just updated on my main machine and got this 
on last progam flip over. Deleted and reinstalled no issue. Should have said on Pi4 menu laggy but definitely usable. Rasplex hasn’t been updated for 3 years ! and no live TV!
Mine still restarts the show. I don’t get a playback error popup.

as I said uninstall delete plex folder and reinstall latest , for windows that’s 1.23
now testing on Windows 1.23 and Debian 1.20 seems be resolved.
Even managed to fix my audio issue forcing all cannels to use English, not sure why this wasn’t set on only one channel
I typically run the plex web player and not the plex windows application.
The version I noted was the Plex Media Server version.
Is there not a fix on the server/web player side of this issue?
I dont get any issue using my HDHomeRun, but I only installed in 1 month ago… I wonder if its worth trying, someone who has this issue, deleting the tuner from the Database (media_provider_resources table), and adding the tuner back again, now the new PMS Server has been released which apparently addresses the issue. Im just wondering if this is why some people are seeing it, and others are not it could be down to the PMS version that was installed when you added the tuner?
@rdenny10 That wouldn’t explain why it happens in web player but not within the Plex windows application. If it was the PMS Server side, wouldn’t it affect either playback options?
The version that is included with the server is a few versions behind what is hosted by Plex, you should be using the https://app.plex.tv version.

ich just works ! can playback on pc WMP only and no HD , Really not sure this is worth all the messing about maybe should try the SW that comes with Homerun 
That seems to be the issue. The local server web client apparently doesn’t contain the fix. I just confirmed this doesn’t happen on the hosted Plex version.

This has been happening for several Plex for Windows clients going back. Here’s where it is not happening (which all of my PCs run, except the one where I discover these things):

I have repeatedly declined to update Plex4Win on every launch on every PC since that version until Plex can produce a version that allows my “test PC” works perfectly for a while.
Still doing this.
Also no option to time shift - no option to start a recording in progress from the beginning with the web player, it just tunes the channel in live from the guide.
Just updated to the latest version and it’s still not working. Wish a Plex rep would chime in.
People are talking about two different things, OP is talking about the web client which you should be using the link https://app.plex.tv . If you want to focus on the Windows client Plex for Mac/Windows you should start a new thread.
Same problem here after server update.

Web client drops stream, Android TV on nvidia shield (old version and new) drops back to guide. Recordings works fine, only when watching live tv stream from HDhomerun Extend devices.
Well, it’s still doing it, months later.
Sitting at the PC, I want to watch something that starts in a few minutes live, maybe more. OOOPS, I’ve missed the beginning as the player has LOOPED TO THE START of my session!
I’m sitting working right now, I want to watch Peston from the beginning that I’m recording, can I do it? Of course not, it just cuts into the live show, so I’m left faffing around playing it in MPC-HC manually from the grab folder and having to stop-start when it catches up and I want to FF an advert.
ANYONE LISTENING?!?!? - MONTHS THIS HAS BEEN GOING ON!

The restart issue of the same show has been fixed for awhile now, maybe about a month?

No it hasn’t, at least not on every combination. I have the server 1.21.0.3711 and just confirmed it still does it. My workaround on Windows is to use an old version of plex for windows, 1.18.0.1392-cf94f6a1, and avoid the server. We also had trouble on the roku and nvidia shield. For now we use the spectrum app on the roku, and the hdhomerun app on the shield, for live tv. My wife gave up on plex almost completely, she just wants it to work. She watches on the roku and the spectrum app does not have true dvr functions, but she just wants something she can trust, so she has given up on plex. I would have given up too except I already paid for the lifetime, so I keep trying.
