Live TV won't play using HD Homerun connect

Same problem here. Server 8994. HDHOMERUN. Any attempts to play live tv cause entire server to be nonresponsive to playing any of my media. Just has things under ‘activity’ that never clear for recording or watching TV.

Please release fix ASAP!

As with many members here, I also began having issues with remote streaming tv from HDHomerun via Plex after updating to version 8994 a few weeks ago. After growing impatient waiting for a fix, I decided to attempt rolling back to an earlier version which some members posted was a successful fix. A post on this thread dated 9/18 from Josh, gives a link to github for previous versions. I downloaded and executed 1.40.5.8921 which some other members also recommended. After agreeing to a reminder that I was overwriting a newer version it installed automatically. This seems to have fixed my issues with remote streaming TV. I don’t seem to have lost any metadata or video files, which was my main concern. Thanks to Josh and other members for their useful input. Now just waiting for an official update with a fix, although I may check back here for reviews before downloading.

Server: HTPC running windows 10
Client: Laptop running windows 11, android phone, and android tablet.

Mine only effects family guy & simpsons. Weird part is, none of the recordings will play either. Not live and, none of the episodes recorded by plex from same net tuner. Even recordings over 2 years old. I think (not sure how to tell for sure) my issue is a new botched codec. I did delete the contents of the codec folder, plex repopulated it (with less than half the number of codecs) and the issue remains. I love plex, but this makes me sad. If I can’t laugh, well then I will be sad…

I see several people had good luck with a roll back. I wonder if I should try it.

I’m happy to report that version 1.41.1.9057 appears to have solved this issue for me. I can now watch live TV from my HD Homerun.

I will also concur that 1.41.1.9057 fixed my issue on my Ubuntu Linux server. Took it about 10 minutes after reboot to find it (and one attempt at a manual IP search within Plex), but it’s working again now. Thank you!

I’m happy to say that Version 1.41.2.9200 appears to have solved my issues of watching OTA through Plex with HDHomerun units.

Anyone have their server running on and Nvidia Shield TV Pro? Strangely I started having this issue on the shield after updating to v1.41.2.9200, which is the version that reported to have the fix here. Anything specific for the Shield TV server I may be missing?

Finally working 100% on my Hauppage dusl tuner PC. 1.41.2.9200.

I am having similar issues attempting to record shows. I have a lifetime plexpass. I’m using HD Homerun Tuner with Plex x9200 running on a Windows 10 machine i5/8400 cpu using built in video. I have several shows that I’m using Plex to record, and I found that the recording ends abruptly between 12-20 minutes into the show. I have reverted to x8921; we’ll see if that helps. Like others reporting difficulties in this thread, I’m mostly using ROKU for playback. I can verify through the HD Homerun App that the HD Homerun is working and picking up the shows. But when I look at the recorded shows on the PC they are truncated, and when I look at the files directly through windows explorer, the smaller file size is consistent with the reported recording time.

Wondering if anything has been found regarding the DVR recordings stopping after a minute plus or so?

Currently using Version 1.40.5.8921
Thank you

I Keep testing and always have to go back to Currently using Version 1.40.5.8921

I am using a PLEX on Windows 11 Pro

I have a Plex server running on the Shield TV and one running on Windows 11 and I still can’t watch live TV using the HD Homerun Quattro and Flex 4k. I loaded the latest beta today and can now watch recorded shows on the Windows 11 server, but the Shield TV is saying: This server is not powerful enough to convert video.

I have the server on Windows 11 Pro and the only version that will continually record correctly is the Version 1.40.5.8921. I have tested it on multiple computers.

Thank you
Is there anything that can be done to fix this?

Attached are server logs, the database was too big to attach
I am Windows 11 Pro (64) User and I have experimented on 3 computers. Currently stuck on Version 1.40.5.8921, but keep trying the new versions and nothing has fixed it. Sometimes it will work, but mostly not and ends within 20 seconds to a minute or too. In the past I have seen it look like it was recording still, but in the end it wasn’t in some of those cases.

I use HDHomeruns (Extend, Quattro, Flex 4K).

Thank you.
Nick

I wanted to give you guys an update. We are aware of the continuation of problems for a number of you. I am hoping that the transcoder overhaul i am currently working on will adress this as is removes a vast majority of our self inflicted bugs. That being said, im wondering if the users having problems have transcoding enabled for dvr records (found under dvr settings)?

I’ve tried with transcoding on and off, nothing is working. I even rolled back to Version 1.40.5.8921, but am unable to view live TV using my Plex Pass with HD Homerun Connect Quattro or Flex 4K . My servers are on Windows 11 and Shield TV.

Do you have any updates on this?

Updated to v.1.41.6.9685 today, and still have the same problem. No live TV or DVR with my HDHomerun Quattro or Flex 4k. Same issue happens with Windows 11 and Shield TV.

Also Having this issue. I just got a Flex 4k and it will keep buffering and then say it can’t playback reilably or whatever. This is very frustrating since I got a Flex 4k and A lifetime subscription specifically for watching live tv.

Jellyfin ftw with live tv. Been waiting more than a year for plex to do something about this, sont think itll ever happen. Totally regret getting a lifetime plex pass
