I’ve reinstalled the media server for windows multiple times to only get the same message.
to add media server. Quite frustrating. how do i get this app to acknowledge that i’ve added it.
What message is that?
If you’re going to the local direct ip http://127.0.0.1:32400/web and it’s telling you to install Plex Media Server, it means your server isn’t claimed, so it’s not linking your account to the server that’s installed.
Sign out of plex in the browser, quit the browser, and right click the Plex icon in the taskbar and select ‘Open Plex’. This should trigger the claim process by asking you to sign in to Plex.
If that doesn’t work, given that you uninstalled/reinstalled several times, some data may be stuck in the registry blocking the claim process. Follow the steps exactly as noted in the page linked below, including the link that opens the steps on how to claim after you do the registry piece.
