Metadata not working

I’m running Plex Version 1.15.6.1079 (latest in repo) fro FreeNAS. I just upgraded to the FreeNAS v11 train and now on this version of PMS it doesn’t match any data. The same files were matched perfectly before this new server environment. Any help would be appreciated.

Help us helping you

Logs in debug mode, right after you do a Plex Dance of a media not working

Here is my log file. Plex Media Server Logs_2019-06-23_05-33-24.zip (1.7 MB)

What movie did you do a Plex Dance on?

I just did a “Refresh Metadata” on a library. Sorry I’m a bit of a NOOB, what exactly do you mean by the “Plex Dance”?

Click on the link I provided in the post right above

Sorry, I just saw that. Ok, I’ve done that with the title “Step Mom”. Here is the new log bundle. Plex Media Server Logs_2019-06-23_06-03-55.zip (1.7 MB)

I fail to see anything in the logs regarding that title, but since the logs roll over, it might be missed due to that.

I also see you are scanning two libraries, both Mom & Dad Movies and Kids Movies
Please only refresh the library we are working on here!

Secondly, I see that Mom & Dad Movies library is set to use the Plex Video Files Scanner which normally is used for Home Videos. I suggest you switch to Plex Movie Scanner as you have for the Kids Movies library. (Edit Mom & Dad Movies library, and in Adv. change it)

Lastly, almost all your media files are named wrongly, and as such, most likely can’t be identified by Plex!

Like: Finding Dory.mp4 should be named Finding Dory (2016).mp4
And I prefer also myself to have medias in separate sub directories
See: https://support.plex.tv/articles/naming-and-organizing-your-movie-media-files/

Which log file should I check? I’ll try to generate a valid response before resubmitting. I’ve had these same files in Plex for years with perfect results. Yesterday I moved them to a new FreeNAS server which is v.11.2 from a v.9 train, and now Plex is not able to match.

None, but you should rename your medias

And I found all this in the Plex Media Scanner.log files

I guess my main gripe with this, is when I go to “Match” no matter what options I use, it will never pull results from search, no matter which agent I pick. This specific item is named properly and still does not produce any results. Also, this naming scheme has had almost flawless matches in the past library, and I’d rename them if I thought it would help, but even those named according to the suggested naming convention do not pull proper matches.

I cleared all my logs, and did the “Plex Dance” on the Stepmom (1998) file again, attached are the new results. It just doesn’t seem to find any search results when matching. Uploading: Plex Media Server Logs_2019-06-23_08-50-12.zip…

Log upload incomplete

Please try again

Dang it. Since then I’ve deleted all libraries and reloaded them with no luck. I’m attaching all logs since on here, but I’m not sure you’ll be able to parse through them. Plex Media Server Logs_2019-06-23_14-19-05.zip (1.8 MB)

Nope, you need to reproduce, with the PlexDance, on a media, and then tell me what media

Ok, I’ve recreated using media title: Pocahontas II - Journey To A New World - 1998.avi .
Plex Media Server Logs_2019-06-23_18-15-16.zip (141.0 KB)

Even though it’s named wrongly, (Should have been Pocahontas II - Journey To A New World - (1998).avi, it was picked up by the scanner, but really confused here about the fact, that the amount of logs is so small!
No logs from other agents than imdb, and it contains nothing in it’s log.

Please provide screenshots of your agent settings

Here you are:

With a little help from my friends they spotted 401 errors in the logs, so I suspect you have a file permission error here

Sadly not a FreeNAS user myself, but suspect PMS runs as the user Plex, so check file permissions in the install dir
