Migrating DSM 6 to 7 without prior notice of advised steps --> no migration happened

OK, I see what’s happening

  1. Shared folder “Downloads” doesn’t grant R/W to PlexMediaServer. Apparently you have this in use as a DVR folder.

  2. “401” is permission denied. The server can’t log in. We can and will now fix this.

  • Uninstall the package – UNINSTALL ONLY (Keep) option
  • Reinstall same package again HOWEVER -
    – New or lost servers option (Plex Claim Token mode)
    – Click hyperlink to get the claim token
    – Browser window opens
    – COPY the claim token
    – Return to installation window
    – PASTE claim token into the box on the form
    – Click NEXT NEXT DONE and allow it to install and claim.

This takes a bit more time than normal install (getting new credentials)

When complete, it will confirm your Plex Username and Email address

When you have opportunity, enable DEBUG server logging again
