Synology Server Version#: Version 1.16.1.1291
Windows Server Version#: Version 1.16.1.1273
I have a very strange issue that just cropped up about two weeks ago. I have two Plex servers, one on my local synology that is used only within my home (the NAS isn’t beefy enough to transcode more than one stream at a time) and a Windows server that faces outside the local network (which is quite beefy indeed). Both servers point to the exact same folders, hosted on the NAS, and yet the Synology-based server isn’t picking up on all of the episdes that are there, but the Windows one does.
For example, we’ve been watching Year of the Rabbit. The Windows server shows four episodes, 1-4. The synology server shows three episodes, 1, 2, and 4. I don’t think it could be naming, because if it was, you’d think the Windows server wouldn’t find them either. Any thoughts?
I’ve been using FileBot to name the media thus far, and that hadn’t changed between when it was working at when it wasn’t. Not sure if that’s something I’d need to investigate further, but I’d assume if one server can find an episode, all servers should be able to. Or at least, that makes sense to me?
I’ll check on the MP4 option. I think both servers have the same configuration, but I’ll check that and if they don’t, I’ll fix that…
Just checked, both servers have identical agent configs. Using Year of the Rabbit as the example, all four episodes are MKV, files. I’ve also noticed that running a scan on the Synology server takes a lot less time than it does on Windows, enough that maybe it’s not actually doing a full scan? I’ll see if I can’t figure out where the logs might be…
OK, I’ve flat-out deleted the library the show is in, removed subzero, cleaned bundles, emptied trashes, and re-made the library. It’s still missing the one episode on one server, but the other finds it. Any other ideas on what it might be?
