Missing item from Library

Hello

I can’t get Plex to show (ironically) the 2005 film ‘Caché’ aka Hidden. My media library follows the Plex naming convention exactly. But it won’t show up in the library. I’ve tried rescanning library and refreshing metadata.

Any ideas how to resolve this?

Screenshots or it didn’t happen :upside_down_face:.

In the Library (browse) view of your library, apply the “Duplicates” filter to see if it shows anything. It may be that PMS is glomming it onto another existing movie.

In my test library, this:

movies/
└── Cache (2005)
    └── Cache (2005).mkv

Produces:

thanks for the suggestion, and i removed a load of duplicates i didn’t know i had..

however, the problem still remains. this particular movie is hidden from plex!

Under some circumstances, NAS devices can be intolerant of special characters.
I’d try to avoid the é in the file and folder names.
Use Cache (2005) - {imdb-tt0387898} instead.
Then perform the Plex dance with the file.

Verifying that the file is playing at all (e.g. using VLC) is also a good idea.

Which type of computer are you using to access the NAS?
Is it a Mac?

i don’t use special characters in file and folder names, so that wasn’t the issue

file plays good

plex dance has resolved

unfortunately, it shows up as ‘hidden’, but i refer to the film as ‘caché’ - can’t win!

(mac, samsung tv, or iphone; behaviour same on all)

Edit the movie and set it to use its original title.
