Mobile Sync iOS shows no media in library but does Sync just fine

Server Version#: Latest Stable Version
Player Version#: 7.0

I have my server running on a Synology NAS at home and is working pretty good but recently my iOS app has been acting up. I have a playlist of music that is automatically downloaded to the iOS plex app (beta version 7). What it’s saying now is that everything is synced, clearly is taking up space on the phone AND I can see the media in the “Recommended” tab but the “library” tab says the “media is unavailable”. What is going on? I tried deleting everything and restarting from scratch but nothing has worked. All logs show that files have been synced just fine to the phone.

This can be resolved by updating your server to the latest version, then uninstalling and reinstalling the player app. Warning, while this resolves the “On this device is Unavailable” message in Library view, it deletes all of your synced contents AND the list of synced contents. So you will have to re-download everything to your mobile device again. =/

I have the newest Server version (Version 1.19.3.2764), delete player in server overview and delete mobile app (Version 6.12) and restart iPhone (iOS 13.4.1) doesn’t help. It’s the same movies, audiobooks.
So this doesn’t fix these issue.

This did indeed fix the issue. I think it may have even been fixed by deleting the app by itself without an update but it’s good practice to update regardless. Thank you!!!

You only delete and install the mobile app?
This doesn’t work for me.

DarthTyranus, I performed an update on the server AND deleted the iOS app, Restarted both the server and the phone and then reinstalled the iOS app.

@jessetechno, that’s what I also did.
Doesn’t fixed the issue.

Thank you

P.S. Plexamp work

@DarthTyranus, I think its your IOS version. I have 13.4 and its working so I bet your phone just needs an update. Try that and let me know if that fixes it.

@jessetechno
Sorry, i had a typo. iOS Version is 13.4.1.

Time to get ahold of support then cause you may have an actual bug.

Unfortunately I only know this forum for technical support.
Who knows another option for technical support?

Hey. I just got an iPhone, going from an android. I’m running a server as well, and for some reason, the offline sync library is claiming that the server is offline? Why does it need to be online? It’s obviously not offline, just as yours isn’t, and I can only view the music in “recommended”. I too have a Plex Pass, and this was the ideal solution to get around FLAC not being able to be transferred through Apple Music.

This is definitely a bug and you are not alone. The “Solution” did not work, and instead, I lost 43GB of synced music. My server is running on Nvidia Shield Pro 2019 and is up to date. I was running ios 13.4.1 when I first encountered this, and am now on iOS 13.5, bug is still present.

Thank you @ethanlatimer

There is a new Server Version (1.19.3.2843) and as you mentioned iOS 13.5.

So updated the Server, restart the NAS, delete the mobile App, restart the iPhone and install the mobile App again. Proceed the same as last time.

The issue still exist!

Please, Plex Developer fix the bug!

I have the same problem. No library shows up in iOS/iPad OS Plex App. Did update/restart server, same problem.

My server is “unclaimed” and not connected to my Plex Account. But when I claimed the server I could se my library. If a log out, the library is gone :frowning:

My theory: Update/serstart server helps everyone with connected plex accounts, but if U, like me, uses a server without a Plex account the problem is still there.

(I have the previous version of Plex for iOS and this version still sees my librarys even if I’m not logged in. So there seems to be related to the latest Plex iOS client…)

Btw. The new Plex for iOS 6.12.1 version did NOT solve my problem. Still can’t access my libraries :frowning:

Hello @Robert_21707

Where do i find the sync off on both user accounts in the plex server?
I have the german language and didn’t found it.
I only have managed users.

Do you reinstalled the mobile app or restart server or iPhone?

Quick update: I signed out, uninstalled the app. Re-installed it, signed in, and now my libraries are back! (I tried this earlier this week, but it didn’t help so don’t know if Plex fixed something ”serverside” or if reinstalling actually helped)

Tried all that but didn’t work for me.
I disabled the sync and download for users, deleted Plex and file folder on my Nas, Nas restart, reinstalled Plex, allowed sync and download, created a new server, import the libraries, deleted the app on iPhone, restart the phone and reinstalled the mobile app. It still doesn’t work.

Plex server Version 1.19.3.2843
Plex Web app Version 4.30.2
iOS Version 13.5
iOS Plex app Version 6.12.1

Please fix the issue, Pex Developers

Hi @Robert_21707

I stopped Plex on my NAS, updated Plex, restarted NAS, started Plex on NAS.
On the same time i deleted my Plex app on the iPhone, restart the iPhone and reinstalled Plex app.

The issue still exists. On my mobile I see the synced music and audiobook in “donwnload & sync” under recommendation but not under mediathek - message “not available on this device”.

Plex server Version 1.19.3.2852
Plex Web app Version 4.30.2
iOS Version 13.5
iOS Plex app Version 6.12.1

I also have Plexamp on my mobile, everything works there.

A new version for iOS is there.

Deinstalled the mobile app, restart iPhone, disabled sync for user, stop server on NAS, restart NAS, start Plex server, abled sync for user, log in to mobile app.
It doesn’t work.
Still a bug.
