Server Version#:4.34.2
Player Version#:6.12.1
Hi,
On iOS I can view and play content under the “recommended” tab, however if I go to the “library” tab it says server unavailable. This only occurs on TV shows, movies works fine. TV shows library works fine on desktop. I have rebooted the server and phone already. Any ideas? Thanks.
Hi,
i have the same problem with ios 13.5 and plex version 6.12.1 on iphone 11 pro.
Server version is 13.9.1 on Qnap TS251+ FW: 4.4.2-1310.
Music synced from Server, tab recommended works fine, library is unavailable…
no matter if i use a registered or a administrated user or if how often i reinstall the app
or sync new musiic to the device…
thanks for any help!!!
I agree totally with these Gents
iPad OS 13.4.1
Plexapp 6.12.1
PMS Version 1.19.3.2843
Browsing a music library from the iPad
- Recommended View - shows & plays music from PMS
- Library View - says the PMS is unavailable
- Playlist View - says the PMS is unavailable
Playing a song from the PMS and then taking the playback mode over on the iPad works for one song, but still cannot see the library contents.
This library is also synced on the iPad. The synced content plays normally on the iPad.
Please fix this !!
Hey guys,
Having same behaviour under Music library:
iOS: 13.5
Plex Server: 4.30.2 (running on Synology NAS)
Awaiting for solution…
Cheers!
I have the same problem Running Docker Plex Server Version: 1.19.3.2852
IOS Plex App Version: 6.12.1.
Please fix this the reason we have sync is that we are suppose to be able to access the downloaded offline library. Not working at all.
I’m having the same issue but with the TV library and Live TV. In addition the issue seems to be device specific. On my iPad I cant access the TV library but can see it on all other devices. Live TV doesn’t work on my Apple TV but is fine everywhere else. I also tried reverting to an older server version but no luck
iOS 13.5
PMS 1.19.3.2852 (Windows)
Guys,
I updated my devices to the latest versions (iPhone: 7.0 and iPad: 6.12.1) and the issue is gone!
Thanks @Plex, cheers!
The 7.0 Update Did not fix this problem this is. The problem still occurs on my IPhone SE
iPhone iOS Version: 13.5
Plex iOS App Version: 7.0
Plex Media Server Version: 1.19.3.2852
I have this issue with Music Library on iPhone but it works on iPad. All other libraries work on both devices.
Server Version: 1.18.2.2058
iOS Version: 6.12.1
Would one of you running into this upload some logs from the iOS app to this thread so we can look into this? Instructions for it are here https://support.plex.tv/articles/201636593-ios-logs/ the next time you see it fail to load
Thanks!

Updating the iOS app to 7.0 seemed to fix the issue. The logs are from the app prior to updating.

This is my debug file for the bug that is occuring on my iPhone SE 2020
Debug file attached. I have updated both server and app and still receiving same error.PlexDebugInfo-garbeth-7.0-20683 (2020-05-27 16.50.20 -0600).zip (1.4 MB)
Last update on ios app fixed the problem, thanks!
Here’s my log. I’m having the same issue - iOS app is on 7.0, server is up to date as of typing this, but I still get the “server is unavailable” error when I try to use library view. Recommended works. Searching works. But library view is completely broken. Have restarted the app, restarted the phone, restarted the desktop that the server is on…nothing. Hopefully this will help you guys figure out what’s causing this issue to persist.

Had the same issue in which my app was up to date (v7.0) but still had the same issue. I also tried re-starting my phone and that did not work either. The only thing that worked for me was to delete the Plex app from my phone and re-install it and now the Library view works again for my TV Shows. If still having trouble, suggest deleting and re-installing the app.
I’m trying desperately to avoid that because I’ve got 60GB worth of synced shows on it, and…well, we all know just how smoothly the sync feature works
I took the advice of @pitweasel, deleted the app and re-installed. Everything is working again normally now.
Thanks @pitweasel!
That was definitely not my advice. @shooter71 suggested that.
On my iPhone Xs Max iOS 13.5.1 Plex app 7.1 (Literally just updated it) PMS 1.19.4.2902 running on FreeNAS 11.3-U3.1. I have some music synced to my phone. I pinned “Music - Synced from (Name of my PMS)” to my sidebar. I can see and play the music that I’ve downloaded on the “Recommended” tab, but if I choose the “Library” tab I get “On this device is Unavailable”. I have to do this because I live in the country and my upload speeds are pitiful even with my two DSL lines load-balanced, so streaming it from my server is not an option. This used to work just fine in the past. I shouldn’t need to connect to my server to play what I’ve downloaded to my device.
Edit: I have deleted and reinstalled the app multiple times to the point I only have a couple of albums synced to it now for testing.
