From what I remember when I done this changing the path to your library caused the deep analysis, chapter thumbnails and intro markers to be re-generated. If your moving from windows to linux then you have no alternative to change the path so they’ll need to regenerate.
At the time I decided to let each of these run sequentially rather than forcing the system to try and do all at once. I have a powerful enough system but still decided to let it do it like that.
So initially I set Generate intro video markers and Generate chapter thumbnails to never so that during server maintenance the system could concentrate on deep analysis first. I then played around with the times for the Scheduled Tasks to run at the times I wanted. Anyhow, once it was done I then enabled the other ones 1 by 1 above until they where completed. I had approx 500 shows with something shy of 20,000 episodes and the times took …
deep analysis took approx 40 hours
chapter thumbnails took approx 4 hours
intro markers took approx 40 hours
Below are some of the stuff I checked as this was happening to ensure it completed before moving to the next one.
One thing i’ve noticed now moving the metadata across, when i change the path it automatically starts scanning the Library ( i assume to check the path )
However it seems to remove the previous link without me removing it, i’m also noticing its adding some movies as recently added? and the date is " 1900-01-01"
not sure whats going on there ? is my database corrupted?
Also do you have Run a partial scan when changes are detected enabled. It’s under library settings. Might be worth disabling that until you get stuff fully scanned successfully.
I don’t have
Run a partial scan when changes are detected
enabled.
check this out, it seems movies are getting added twice? this is happening with a bunch of movies,
Also the toy story 4 with a picture shows as the old path, the blank one with no metadata shows as the new path,
i think i have a wider issue here as well, as you can see from the second picture
if i try and fix match , it just doesnt find a match and its completed very quickly, im not sure its doing anything… hmm this didnt happen the first time i transferred the metadata over. strange
Its likely still scanning and matching so I’d suggest letting it fully finish before finishing the rest of the steps outlined above.
BTW… in case you don’t know you can check under setting → status → alerts as the scanning and matching is happening. I typically use that when I’m doing a large scan of media changes to see the status of it.
