I don’t see a Samsung TV in your Plex account, so it might simply not be attached to your plex.tv account.
Or it might be an old device (model year 2015 and older) which is now no longer compatible with plex.tv Samsung TV Cannot Connect to Plex
Hi OttoKerner.
I tried the instructions on the link you sent to me and it did not work. I dont mind deleting my account and setting up a fresh new one if that is a quicker solution. What do you think?
When following the instructions from your link I could not find the following file, com.plexapp.plexmediaserver.plist
Your server hasn’t been seen by plex.tv for 4 days. Something must have changed back then.
Did you already create a new plex.tv account?
Can you see the Plex icon in the task tray on your server machine?
Hi again. I did sign out and signed back in. I cannot see the Plex icon in the task tray.
I have recently moved house and I have a new modem but the problem started before we moved many months ago.
I just restarted my computer and I can now see the Plex icon in the task tray but I’m still getting an error when trying to play a movie. Please see attached image.
I’m running my content from an external hard drive. Do you think this could be an issue. Would it be better to run the content from an internal hard drive on my computer?
Many thanks again
Inspect the Plex media info of any item.
At the top you’ll see the drive letter, under which Plex is expecting to find your media file.
Compare this to the actual drive letter your drive currently has.
If the two are different, you know the cause.
Change the drive letter of your external drive back to the letter it had, when you created the Plex library.
