Hi, all. Suddenly my server has disappeared, and so obviously all of my libraries are gone.
The settings panel only shows remote things.
I can access the server directly, and restarting the server did not fix the issue.
I don’t see a way to associate the server again, and I haven’t found it in the docs yet.
What do I look for here? How do I regain access to my libraries on my server?
This is all I see now, when I load settings. And, this is directly on the server (whatever.unixdude.net:32400), not via app.plex.tv, but that shows exactly the same thing.
DSM 6 or DSM 7 ?
Make a ZIP of the “Logs” directory (under Plex Media Server) and attach it.
I suspect foul play on the part of another program / something which is preventing PMS from running correctly and broke the Plex / PlexMediaServer shared folder.

Did you upgrade from DSM 6 → 7 without going through the migration process ?’
This server has been up and running for months as DSM7. I have not upgraded Plex or DSM for a long time – until today, after I posted this ticket. It’s possible the logs included information from that upgrade.
I’ve never seen a situation like this, where my local server is disappeared, and my server disappearing is definitely not related to today’s Plex SPK version upgrade, because the server disappeared before I did that. I upgraded Plex SPK as a troubleshooting step.
This might be related, but I doubt it: I recently had to change my Plex password because an unauthorized device (rather, a previously authorized TV at a beach vacation condo) logged in to my account. When I got that login email, I immediately changed my password.
Even so, my libraries did not disappear coincidental to that password change – it was days later, so the two events do not seem to be related.
In any case, I just need to readd my server to my account, and I don’t see docs on how to do that.
Ah, I think I want to “claim” the server, but when I click the wrench to go to the settings area, I do not see my server – I only see the options shown in the top picture.
How do I reclaim my server?
I tried the instructions here – How to Claim Your Plex Server - Plexopedia
But I am not seeing what the page indicates I should see.
Maybe this is what I need to do?
Edited to add: Did this, and it made no change – my server still does not show up, and I am not able to claim the server.
I was finally able to reclaim the server using this script: GitHub - uglymagoo/plex-claim-server
I had to modify the script’s $home value (~PlexMediaServer instead of ~plex), and I had to set PLEX_MEDIA_SERVER_APPLICATION_SUPPORT_DIR="/volume1/PlexMediaServer/AppData", but after that I was able to get a claim code and run the script: sudo -u PlexMediaServer ./plex-claim.sh CLAIM_CODE, and then I restarted PMS on the Synology, and now it’s back.
Crazy times.
On DSM 7, the capability is built right into the package.
It shows you as you install.

Thanks - I never saw that FAQ in all of my searches. I’m going to save that link and read those items. Also, when I upgrade PMS on my Synology, I just install the new version; am I supposed to uninstall first? (Maybe the FAQ answers that…)
stop the package. install new version. start the package. uninstalling is only required if you are trying to downgrade versions.
You do not need to stop or uninstall first when updating to a newer version.
When downgrading, you do have to uninstall first. Synology DSM does not permit installing older versions on top of more recent versions.
